Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

Just admit you screwed up and typed incorrect data to make it look like you knew what y'all were talking about with yer glib responses :D

Think of this as an intervention :p

It's ok...

Better get Karl Rove on the case! You know he won't be dissuaded by the evidence even if it means getting humiliated by his own network on national TV....:D

PS - Nobody knows what you're talking about with your Feb data comment. Just thought you'd like to know. ;)

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

It would be interesting to see this logic played out to its natural conclusion--where human discourse consists of nothing but people repeating the following phrase at each other: "You previously said x, but x was not true, therefore your statement y is not true."

Actually in this case, it's like this: "Because you said x and x was not true, and you've been accused of lying in the past, it is very likely that y is also not true."

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

Playin' the dummy!!! :D

Interesting, or not

I think we understand your post about as much as we always do Mook! Don't take that as a compliment. ;)

8M and counting!

Knucks', you can eat your sh !tburger on this now, or you can eat it later. Either way works for me. :D

Still waiting for that GOP/conservative/loonitarian/knuckledragger alternative.

Um...that's not quite the logical conclusion, which instead would be "you previously said x, but evidence has emerged that, when you said x, you knew it was NOT true at the time you said it. How can we trust you now?" That is not explicitly saying that statement y "must be" untrue, it merely asks a reasonable question, "how can we trust you a second time when you have already betrayed our trust once?"

There are mechanisms in place that address such a situation, you know.

I don't think I posted any data or estimations. You might be confusing me with Rover...much like your failed attempts in the PotY contest.

I think he's confusing both of us with the voices in his head.:p Until he posts a link or something, I still have no idea what he's babbling about.

You're right, of course, that is absolutely a reasonable question. But, you suggested that it isn't reasonable to believe the data--not that it isn't reasonable to trust it out of hand (which I agree with). The mechanisms that exist to address the situation as you are now laying it out kind of speak to the point I was hinting at--that belief does not require trust.

Assuming those numbers are accurate, how many lost coverage because they lost their job, became too old for their parents' policy or could simply no longer afford insurance? How many of those had a magical "pre-existing condition" which prevented them from getting new, affordable coverage?

Ummm....again what's the point? Sorry Mookie, but it sounds like you heard a snippet on talk radio on the drive into work, and decided to repeat it without waiting to see where Rush/etc was going with it.

You're right. How dare he post something without a link to Mother Jones or MSNBC to back it up like you always have.

Kindly post an example of when I've ever linked Mother Jones (?) or MSNBC.

You're busted, Tiggsy. :D

No, that's Scooby. His favorite resource for unbiased news is MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Show.

I was wondering what he was talking about. I think the 8M sign-ups are causing a psychiatric incident on the right. First Mook is channeling Grampa Simpson posting nonsensical info that has no point to it, then Tiggsy is accusing me of posting links to a site (Mother Jones) that I didn't know existed. Maybe a "time out" is in order fellas? :D :D :D

Where is your resource to prove you didn't know it existed? Obviously you cannot make any sort of assertion or claim without a link, so snap to it.

Here's the link showing I didn't know it existed:
