The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

Anyone know if Hobby Lobby actually knew this was going on? If they farmed out the management of the fund, they likely have no say in what they are doing with the $$$ as long as it is producing. Or if they knew that there are options on how to invest to avoid things like this? I have no clue what my 401k invests in, so if they have hired someone to manage the fund they might not know either. Go ahead and say they should know or that's true they are clueless. I challenge anyone to list every company they are invested in with a mutual fund at any exact moment.

And yet it's pretty common knowledge that there are funds available that will take the Christian high ground (such as it is) and avoid any companies that are involved in abortions or contraception. Makes you wonder if Bob is profiting from some really sinful stuff, doesn't it?

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

Does Hobby Lobby sell any merchandise made in China? Considering the corporation's opposition to abortion, I would expect they wouldn't want to support a government with a one-child policy which forces parents to get an abortion. So where does their merchandise originate?

I wonder what the first clue was that the Hobby Lobby people are completely full of malarkey.

Excellent point.

If you're going to wear your Christianity on your sleeve, is it too much to ask that you walk the walk instead of just talking the talk? One would think if this issue meant so much to them, they'd know where their 401k's were being invested. Socially conscious funds have been around for decades.

Proving...what? That the power to tax can influence behavior? I think that was settled science quite a few centuries ago. :)

Proving that the law is doing what it said it would - bringing down the # of uninsured!

Funny when a Prez does something he said he'd do. ;)

Like you can keep your plan if you like it, you can keep your doctor if you like or the average family will save 2500 bucks a year.

We'll be greeted as liberators...mission accomplished....

Was there anyone who argued that the law would not bring down the # of uninsured? I think you found yourself a fine windmill there, Senior Quixote.

I hope you have the 278 links needed to back that up, because I definitely do not believe you.

Said that it wouldn't reduce costs? Sure. That it wouldn't improve quality or availability of care? Definitely. That it was an unfortunate, if not unconstitutional, overreach of federal power? Of course. But you are nuts if you think that every GOP in Congress, dumb as they are, thought that requiring people to buy insurance would cause FEWER people to do so.

Are you forgetting all the talk about how 5M people supposedly lost insurance, so therefore it was a net loss of insured people? Kindly look at the three tweets in this link, from The Boner, Barasso and Rubio for starters.

You know, you're usually not this far off. Are you feeling okay? :D

1) those are not arguments that were made during the debate on the passage of the law (which is what I thought we were talking about - predictions for what WOULD happen if the law were passed), and 2) those statements were reasonably factual at the time, but those GOP folks timed them awfully carefully (after the cancellation notices, but before the enrollment deadline) and they're meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Sooo...you want to talk about predictions when the law was passed, but are okay with lies told while it was being implemented  Okaaayyyyyy....you do remember the Death Panels, right? While its nice to see you carrying the water for The Impotent Boner, I'm a little surprised that an independent like yourself wants to do so. :D

Reading your second point, the lyrics to "Feelin' Alright" popped in my head. Perhaps you can sing them for us? "Oooo don't you get to lost now, in all I saaaayyy. I'll bet at the time you know I really felt that way. But that was then and now you now, its today" - Kinda sums up the philisophy of most conservatives, who apparently we're not supposed to hold to account because....they're conservatives???

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

What's this, knuckledraggers, CBO says Obamacare will reduce deficit an additional 186Bn?!?!?!

http://www.cnbc.com/id/101581648

So tell me, knucks. What is the conservative alternative that will reduce the # of uninsured AND reduce the deficit? We're waiting (4 years and counting....).
