Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

Me too

I don't post for feedback.

Maine is working hard on the recruiting trail but their logic is strange at best. I see the outdated jackets all over the place, especially in the USHL

They have a great player in Mark Anthoine. Will be atop 2 line kid and can score, great shot and tough kid. Captain of the Steel this year and is a warrior. Maine fans will love him.

Holden Maine, the town I could never figure out what it was. Drove through it many times on the way to Green Lake but outside the Donald Ross 9 hole golf course and resort hotel, never knew what made it up

The golf course you refer to is a par 3 course in Holden, I’m not sure if it still exists, but the resort is the Lucerne Inn is located in Dedham next to the fire station across the road from a 9 hole course.

That last home series vs. ZooMass is gonna be a doozy!

I predict it will determine the #2 seed in Hockey East. ;)

I wouldnt go quite that far. :) I do think the zoomazz series will decide the last home berth for the quarterfinals, and if Maine is worth their muster, they will kick their phkn azz in that series, they owe that much to themselves.

Is it just me or does anyone else have the impression that Whitehead is pretty much just a puppet coach nowadays? After the rumors swirled around, it seems plausible in my mind that sumbuddy else has a hand on this wheel and is "running the crews" as we would say. At least I can reconcile their recent win streak by using that philosophy.

I wouldnt dis Union too much. Saw them in the 2 game series at Alfond and wuz suitably impressed. They're experienced and a good ecac team....to keep it in perspective, Maine skated a lot of freshman for their first real away series there....

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

Since Whitehead has been snake-bitten by both his 22 year old freshmen and 15 year old diaper dandies.......maybe he is gun shy now?

I know that I don't like seeing all of those Junior Monarchs committing to other programs........I guess that Corkum's legacy wasn't lasting. :(

Why screw up a good thing............the Monarch kids seem to be a good fit for the program and seem to stack up well or better than kids from the USHL. They seem to know what it takes to win. Why not use the Corkam gravey train to Maine's advantage while the opportunity is still there.

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

I am not sure I want to write this again, but "KNOW IT ALL" is supposed to be a joke, you see, EVERYONE who posts thinks that he posts the final word on every single subject. I.e. BobF thinks he knows it all, acs thinks he knows it all, SteveF thinks he knows it all... There is nothing wrong with everyone thinking that he knows it all in an anonymous internet forum...

this was not my first screen name, but I thought that it was the "best one" for EVERYONE on here, the one that everyone would have chosen had everyone been honest with him/herself.
JustAnotherKnowItAll was too long, as was JustLikeYouIKnowItAll...

that all being said, I DO know it all, and if you doubt a single thing I say, YOU ARE WRONG... ALL OF YOU. (if you are even in doubt of what your opinion should be on anything, email me and I will tell you what it should be)

as for what I know, and what I hope for, I never said that they were one and the same.

KIA I have gotten the joke all along, you on the other hand may not be getting your own joke:rolleyes: (see I used the wrong smile I should ahve used the sarcasm smile in my original thread!)

No I had the same feeling! It's Shawn! It's a Christmas Miracle!!!

Whithead must be listning more to Corkum or it was a real fluke that due recent injuries, the depth of the bench was tested and provided positive results.
I agree the first game against Union, Maine skated with a lot of freshman, and Union was better preparred. Maine could not get untracked and seemed dis-organized

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

and the kidz are being more influenced by Corkum. Dont forget that many came from his tutelage to start with....only adds up in my lil pee brain. :) As much as I'd luv to give Whitey credit for turning things a bit here, I doubt he deserves that much of my respect. :)

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

Right, but I was trying to figure out why the pollsters have still given Maine only enough votes to be another "also receiving votes"... and I am sure I gave the right answer... and the answer to why Union is ranked where they are, with so few losses.

Polls may mean little, but they mean something.

Looking at a glass that is half-full, I see Maine playing super well right now, but looking at a glass that is half-empty, I see a team that is playing well against crappy teams. JUST LIKE LAST YEAR AT THIS TIME. (Maine had beaten BC who was ranked really high last year when Maine won, but as it turned out, it was not much of an accomplishment.... ditto this year's BU win.)

I am not tying to be too pessimistic, really, but a week ago I was thinking of booking seats out to Ford's Field.

we fans can be very happy that the tempo of the game as improved and that Tim/coaching staff is implementing some things that we have been begging for, but the pollsters are not going to reward a 10-1 win over the 38th best team in the country (SLU) after getting swept by the 18th best (Union) and going 2-1 against the 30th best (NU).

Pollsters are also notorious for being slow to acknowledge improving teams, and hangs on to fading team far too long. That being said, we are right where we deserve, if you ask me.

I wish that they would!......but take a look at recent NH Monarch commitments. :(

Nor me, but I'M STILL WAITING WALLY! :p

Ok ok, hows your dad doin? Haven't see the bread man lately. Should be workin' around one of your Aunts tomorrow or next day out in Glenburn. When you coming to a game in Orono?

He's great. Not sure when I'll get to a game at Alfond next, because I work all the home weekend games for the Monarchs in Manch-Vegas. The next game I'm planning on going to is the road game Saturday night in Providence. I'm dying to see these guys in person.

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

the most interesting matchup was seeing Paul Kariya shooting on Jimmy Howard on December 9 (4 SOG) and then Howard losing that game 1-0 to ..ahem.. Ty Conklin

i love kariya, but i hope he gets with a team that might win the cup

1 plus season, plus minus wise, in the past 9 seasons

should have stayed with his pal salanee in anaheim

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

Jimmy got his first shutout in the NHL last night.

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!
