Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

Merry Christmas fellow Maine fans, hope you guys had fun, enjoyed your families and got some good stuff:p /QUOTE]

Merry Christmas to you, too,Wally. And the same to AMC,KIA,Sandie, Priceless,et al... My best to all you usual nut-cases that keep the Maine threads going.

The past couple of years have driven home the hard fact that there is more to life than Maine hockey,or could I be wrong?

This team could make a run.Maybe I'll see them in Albany next year;it's certainly possible.(Or that could be the eggnog talking.)

Happy New Year to all Black Bears,at any rate.Maine has a shot for the first time in a while. That feels good, for a change.

Merry Christmas fellow Maine fans, hope you guys had fun, enjoyed your families and got some good stuff:p /QUOTE] Florida Classic will be a ture test on how this team will be affected with the time off...2nd half will also gauge where this Hky program is headed and IF they can get some "Solid want to be AT UMaine Hky recruits." And I firmly believe in NO contract extension to TW this year...........imo.

Florida Classic will be a true test on how this team will be affected from the layoff after a 6 game turn-around..{5-0-1}..2nd half will gauge where this HKy program is headed this year and in the following season's..and to see IF we can get "SOME recuits" that want to be at UMaine...and I..{imo}..firmly believe NO contract extension to TW during or after the season. Happy New Year to all...!!! Lets play Hockey...SOON....go Maine.

This team will not let up as they have that underdog mentality, hard working........and they do not have any pre-madonas of years past

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

This past summer I decided, for the first time, to make the post-Christmas trek to the Florida College Classic. When the season started at Union College, although the results weren't what I was hoping, I left that series optimistic in what I saw. That optimism was reinforced with the showing against Michigan State. Then came the UMass and UNH games and for the first time, I began to question whether I had overestimated how I thought this team could evolve and also wondered if I had picked the wrong year to make the trip south.

Since that time, I have seen steady improvement as well as a team that is just a lot of fun to watch. Well, my family and I landed in Tampa this afternoon and after a trip to see the Lightning play the Bruins on Monday night (Mike Lundin just got recalled today so I am really hoping he might play), I am really looking forward to seeing Maine in these 2 huge games against Princeton and either CC or Cornell.

Are any other folks on here venturing to the Sunshine State this coming week to attend the tourney?

What does Madonna before she became famous have to do with any of this?

Well if you were at the game tonight..{Atl. vs TB}..you got to see Mike Lundins first NHL goal...took 111 games and 3 seasons to get it.....good for him...glad if you got to see it....now bring home..{Maine}..2 wins from the Sunshine State............

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

Random comment (since I've never even opened up this thread before): At the Frozen Four a few years back, my friends and I made friends with some guys that called themselves the Naked 5. They would go shirtless and each have one letter on them that spelled out MAINE, and they were lots of fun. Is there still a group of guys that does that for the games?

He probably figured she was a vain or undisciplined person who finds it difficult to work under direction or as part of a team.

But he spelled it wrong... prima donna ;)

Yes, the guys that do it are brothers of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and the letters get passed down once someone graduates, that way there will always be a Naked 5.

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

Why would you put their names and towns on this site? Did you ask their permission to do that?
It was in a old article in the Maine Telegram{1993}...the week that UMaine beat Lake State in Wisconsin....sorry if it offended YOU...it was to put out the young men who Shawn Walsh ASKED to do it...it was like a lineup....#5 from,name,town...it was to give them CREDIT...but I won't let it happen again on your WATCH....hopefully no damage done to the others on this post........

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

Is there any video coverage through the net, that can be accessed for the Florida tourny games this week?

Has it always been this way or is it still? I was offered (but turned down) a letter by someone whom I know was not in Sigma Phi Epsilon. I was there '98-'02 as an undergrad.

I don't believe it was always like that, I'm pretty sure Sigma Phi Epsilon was not on campus during the 90's, but they came back in 2000. But I know that at least 4 of the guys are Sig Ep's and they're trying to get the last letter passed down to a Sig Ep so will stay within the fraternity.
