The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

At that point, assuming you had the cash (and with a $5 starting bet, maybe the guy didn't), don't you have to hedge there?

Yes, you hedge. Hedge hard.

And it being a fiver, you're not that nervous. If it was a dime or something, you are very nervous.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

The question I have about that is this: if you bet on a 15 game parlay and the first 14 games hit, exactly how nervous would you be? Or more to the point, would you kill yourself if that 15th pick failed by a point as your team didn't cover the spread? :p

I remember a story (true or not, who knows) that there was a bet in Italy based on 13 soccer matches... guy got the first 12 right but then the refs abandoned the match in the 13th game for some reason or another. The guy promptly lost the bet.

I need three measly yards from Forte...Lovie better not decide a 29 point lead is safe and sit him.

ETA: ****!

So....AP sucked huge last night. Not what I needed.

I'm up by 6, he has Y. Bell and Sanchez. I have Keller and Folk. The nice thing is, TEs in our league get PPR, and 2 points for every 15 yards, and a bonus 3 for going over 90. So if Keller has a good game, I should be okay. And, if Sanchez sucks like he has been, I MIGHT be okay.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

It looks like both of my 5-0 teams are going to win. One is up 31 with the Jets D/ST vs Marshall and Folk; the other is playing a guy who started 3 players on a bye this week. In another I needed 3 more yards from Matt Forte...now I'll get a tie.

Gruden signs a 5-year extension for Monday Night Football.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

I'd love to see someone put together a supercut video of Gruden referring to players as being "really special players" or "one of the best in the league".

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

I need 18 points from Reggie Bush and Nick Folk tonight. I'm not holding out much hope.

This is a great idea. It would be like a compilation of Lou Holtz saying which team "has the most heart in college footbaw." :)

Guess who is being discussed as a replacement QB in Oakland...

The number 4 hasn't been issued to anyone on the roster yet...

Surprised this hasn't happened sooner given the number of teams with an injured QB and nothing to lose.

/except a shot at Luck
