The New WCHA (2013-14)

Re: The New WCHA (2013-14)

I just listened to the College Hockey Tonight and wow! That was another great show by Scott and Moose. I think Gwoz didn't expect Moose to ask him the questions.

Realistically, it doesn't matter. It does make those of us that feel spurned just a bit better though. Everything that was asked still hasn't been answered, even if Gwoz says he could go down a laundry list of things. He hasn't, DU hasn't, UND hasn't, no one that is involved has answered any of those questions. It's water under the bridge and probably time to move on, but it's still nice to see them have their feet put to the fire once in a while.

Re: The New WCHA (2013-14)

I know this is me being bitter, but I would be really annoyed that UMD could be part of the group that left us high and dry and then still benefit from the revenues coming from our league. I understand that it MIGHT be a good solution, but I would have to bite the bullet with that kind of solution.

agree.

still bitter. if this had been a clean above board deal you wouldn't find one of the ringleaders still dodging questions six months later. wonder which team will bolt first? Duluth? Western?

I highly doubt UMD would have the WCHA host their conference tournament there.

1) Why would the WCHA spend even $1 to use the facility of team from another conference?
2) Who says UMD isn't going to need the rink to host their own first round series?
3) Logos at center ice are the lest of Amsoil's concerns.

1. Exactly
2. I think that would be the weekend before...
3. They could change it for sure, but I just don't see it happening. See 1.

Re: The New WCHA (2013-14)

Well to move on. I think it's way past time for the offices to move east. Denver is just not a good spot for them to be, imho it's hurting the league to have the offices way out there. Plus has anyone looked at the wcha staff?. Man talk about dinosaurs!

I'm for putting them in Green Bay but I could also see them in Minnesota or Michigan too.
And finally, moose should make his show a TV show, not just radio.

Offices in Green Bay. Right away. I can't understand why they are still in Denver. They should leave Denver and firebomb the place as they leave.

Maybe Moose has a face that is not fit for a TV audience???? ;)

I'd much rather the league office actually be in a city that's got a team. Not that it really matters, but from the standpoint of looking like they are connected to the teams in the league, it seems to be the better option. It doesn't really matter which school they are close to, just as long as they are near one of the league's schools. Getting out of Denver is paramount though.

If Green Bay becomes the permanent location for the Final 5, then I don't have a problem with league offices being there. Otherwise, I'm sure they would be able to find some available real estate in Houghton.

Cheap too!

The term "face for radio" likely applies.

On a serious note, thanks all for the positive feedback. Scott (Williams, the listed "co-host" from College Hockey Tonight - and the TV voice of BSU hockey on Lakeland PTV) and I really enjoy putting together the show, which we've been doing for 13 seasons now. Stop by the website and catch the show whenever BSU is playing. We usually have it online by noon the Friday of a weekend series. Since the Beavers are off this week, last week's show will stay up until next Friday.

Re: The New WCHA (2013-14)

The championship AND the league offices should at the very least be in a state that has a WCHA school. Why should Wisconsin benefit from this?
