The new Super League is going down the tubes.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

I found it- On September 28, 2009, following disappointment with the network's results, MyNetworkTV dropped its status of a television network and transitioned to become a syndication programming service.

I'm impressed. No wonder I never saw any UMD games this year. The audience reach was less than the Charter broadcasts that went around the state. So, #1 they made no money on it. #2 the broadcast range was local and didn't at least broadcast out of the area to promote the brand.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

IF you get Notre Dame, this whole move makes sense to the Sioux-Per League. If not, I don't really see the SPL revenue really being more than half what it would have been in the B1Gless WCHA. The playoff structure is very important in determining this. Other than Grand Forks...there isn't a location that makes sense and there will be very little interest for this tournament from Minnesotans...But we'll never know since you guys abandoned the league before we could even see what the Final Five would be like without the B1Gs

Didn't we, um, just see that?

I'm so impressed that you were able to obtain the financial statements from My9 so quickly! And to crunch the numbers and come up with the net present value so quickly... that's some mighty nice figuring there, honey.

Now step out of the single-wide and go hunt you some opossum for dinner!

You stated something incorrect. I corrected you. I didn't make a statement either way on its financial success.

Fool - they are nocturnal and much easier to trap.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

Somebody from the Super League also had the balls to invite BC and BU to join. They of course said, "nah, we don't like yaur accent".:p
The first rumors that came out 6 months ago were that BC was very interested. Jerry York was furious with the Big Ten schools and wanted BC to make the move. Where did these rumors originate? People with WCHA tie-ins, so for Bruce McLeod to claim ignorance on the breakaway is disingenuous at best.

Perhaps Jerry York changed his mind, perhaps he couldn't convince BU to become a travel partner or perhaps he got overruled bu the AD or president. Either way, BC was a player at one point.

No matter what, if the Super League becomes a rousing success, BC knows they have an open invite.

What, exactly, was York furious at those schools for?

Oh, that could work perfectly. Then there would be an open spot for Notre Dame to go to Hockey East.

You'll have to ask him, but it might have had to do his years at Bowling Green & his National Championship while there. Or maybe he saw the move as escalating the college hockey arms race.

Either way or whatever it was, BC was a consistent player in the rumors from the get go.

First I heard about BU was yesterday.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

I met this BC fan in St Louis that was wicked scary. After the 2nd period he said something about wishing he was back in prison so he didn't have to worry about the score of the hockey game.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

Don't worry it won't.
Thank you Nostradamus for your input. Just a week ago you were saying...

It's just my opinion but I'm pretty sure UND is happy with the WCHA. However having said that it would be negligent of them not to listen to the guys from DU who are hell bent on getting a new conference going for whatever reason. I do think that the WCHA is looking at adding a couple of more teams though and I agree the CCHA is in trouble. Emphasis on looking at...

No one knows just how far this is from happening, but first I'd be surprised if UND left and if they do Tech's future lies with what the two alaska schools do. but again, just my opinion.

wow adding one school can do this much damage. IN no other NCAA sport this would happen. Again college hockey problem is not the big ten it that to many small schools have rode of the coat tails of he big schools to keep there programs alive. It a horrible business model but most fans need a scapegoat instead of looking at the facts.

No matter how much you white knight the Big Ten, they're not letting you into their university with grammar like that.
