Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Interesting statement. You must be a Roque fan.

Or perhaps he simply thinks it may be difficult for a freshman goalie with zero career college goaltending minutes to lead the team during the toughest stretch of the season. I'm not sure how much you can gauge from Canadian exhibitions, but I'm sure we'll learn more about Ravn the next couple of days.

That's exactly what I was thinking. And the Lakers got another very tough February schedule.

Hopefully the results of today's game will be posted very soon.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

If he stuggles or gets hurt, the Lakers will be in huge trouble if they have to rely on Ravn with zero experience during the stretch run.

Why will the Lakers be in huge trouble if they have to rely on Ravn ? He may very well be as good as KK as Ravn also had good numbers in the juniors . The Lakers will stay in huge trouble if their powerplay stays the same and some of the players who need to step up continue playing sub-par.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

The situation was highly predictable since september so if there is a trouble, it was avoidable.
Ravn won't enjoy the same gentle and progressive start (if he ever starts) but I guess Roque wanted it to be this way.

No news about the first result ?

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

8-22-3 in the second half of the season the previous two years. Three straight first-round playoff exits with no home games.

But unlike the previous 5 seasons, this year is different so I expect good results, great team chemistry, a well conditioned squad, and team that gets better every game for Coach Roque and his crew in 2011.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Win 7-3 at North Bay for something like 40-25 shot.
Only few scoring chances by Ni****ing during 1st-2nd period; 1st goal rather weak.
Ravn played 3rd period and was scored 2 goals : 1 pp (completely screened) and 1 penalty shot (unfortunate because had made a huge pad save before referee called a penalty).

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Just for perspective, NMU beat this team 11-0 on October 3.
Apparently the domination didn't last the whole game.
The Lakers fared better in the third period, outshooting and outchancing Lake State after easing up on the forecheck and playing more of a 1-2-2 system (Nuggets.ca).

Yes, but that game was at Northern. This game was at Nipising so you would expect a closer game, regardless of whether Northern or LSSU was Nipising's opponent.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Nice job by the Lakers again. Nice to see the freshman players score a bunch of goals.

You are so correct. What a big couple of wins against some of Canada's best and brightest teams.

Wait till these freshman get to be junior and seniors and improve under this coach like the Cassiani's, Hobbin's, and Barchuck's among dozens of others. Keep it going guys I see great things ahead in the second half of the season.
