Where are all the excuse makers tonight? Paging Bill, Anchors Away etc. Your buddy Jimbo needs you guys now more than ever. Please tell me you guys haven't deserted your dawg in his time of need. Boy you guys are out cold! With friends like you guys, who needs enemies?

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

It has become sad watching a team with a great history fade the same way MI Tech has. Bowling Green is the only team with fewer wins in league play and in overall play, the Lakers have the least victories. What did Roque say ? Second half of the season this team is going to surprise a lot of teams with how good it is. What did one of the players say to Crawford during an interview ? Come the second half of the season we are going to blow through teams. MI State came in having trouble scoring under 2 goals a game and in the third they scored 4 so fast that they drove fans out even faster. The question remains the same . Is this team just a team of little talent or a team of talent with little coaching or a combination of both ?

Haven't been on here for a while but I see that nothing has changed. Your team is still losing games and there are more excuses for this coach and administration. You people are very predictable. Always have been, always will be. I am looking forward to the positive spin from the Roque lovers on here and the head cheerleader.

The Quad City Mallards have moved into first place in the Central Hockey League led by Frank Anzalone.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

The Lakers played the 10th place Spartans well for two periods, holding them at 0-0. A couple of good bounces for the Lakers and that third period would have been much different. The grueling road trip against tremendous Canadian opponents over the break, where they went 5-0 probably had some lingering affects. And you had key guys like Radke, Power and Barchuk out of the lineup and a team that is just snake bitten with injuries.

I expect a turnaround performance by this team and this coaching staff tomorrow night. Despite the Lakers only a point out of 10th place, a win tomorrow and two more next weekend against Western Michigan and then probably sweeping a good Bowling Green team puts them right back in the drivers seat for a top four finish and a first round bye that people on here were talking about a few weeks ago.

If not we can talk about those recruits for next season anyway and give this coach another year.

Power played last night moron, if you're going to attempt to be funny at least get your facts straight

They played bad last night, nothing else to say....I'm not making excuses but I am a loyal fan and I'm going to continue to stand by the Lakers no matter what their record and not be a narcissistic fair weather idiot like yourself who spends all day trying to think up something witty to say so you can complement yourself on one of your other usernames, get a life pal.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Actually, I didn't think the Lakers played all that bad for the first forty. They were arguably the better team. They out-chanced the Spartans on quality scoring opportunities for the first two periods. Two goalposts when the game was still 0-0. The Laker "D" also did a nice job of keeping the Spartan forwards to the periphery for two periods.

But they looked mentally-exhausted in the third. First goal: Monrado should have just chipped the puck off the glass out of the zone, but instead tried to get fancy. The result: a turnover. Second goal, I believe it was Perrault who just bobbled the puck for no reason. There was little pressure on him.

I think the southern Ontario swing over Christmas break was both a blessing and a curse for the team. They were able to keep in shape; but at the same time they probably subconsciously developed a few bad habits while playing lesser opponents, who in no way challenged them like their CCHA counterparts do, and will.

And before anyone blames the coaching staff for the Lakers not playing in any meaningful games over the break, remember the Denver tournament was originally a Christmas tournament, but in August was changed to Thanksgiving weekend. There was no way the Lakers could have shoe-horned themselves into a meaningful tournament, with the season only weeks away.

I fully expect a Lakers victory tonight.

have been watching this site for 3 years and I have been quiet, now its time to speak up. I am a avid laker fan been following laker hockey for over 20 years and have seen players and coaches come and go. I think its time for new direction as a coaching staff, lakers need some new ideas, because its very stale watching the incostitent play of the lakers. Please make a coaching change at the end of the season, so next year new coaching staff = new direction, more wins, more fans, and more money for lssu.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Yea, not since last night, TruthSquad/TruthSerum/BootJimRoque. You're due for another new username to mix things up.....

You people are so predictable and after tonight I can't wait to hear the excuses once again for this coach and this team when they are in 10th place. You would think in almost 6 years you people would have run out of excuses for your poor product on the ice and the direction of the program, but every week it is the same and this year you people have really outdone yourselves lately with excuses.

With a victory tonight at home against Dayton, the first-place Quad City Mallards, led by the great Frank Anzalone will equal the amount of wins by Lake Superior State in the past year in a half. That is in 35 games for Frank and 61 games for Roque and his staff.

Keep poking fun at those that question this team and its direction, and it is more than one person, make fun of the Anzalone's, whatever you people have to do to feel better because come early March you will be back in the same spot and maybe if another team bolts out of the CCHA 9th place will be in your reach for next year.

And those Mallards, a team no one knows about, in a league no one cares about, play more than twice the amount of games each year than the Lakers.

The Truth Is Out There...

It is, I agree.

But then why on earth is it that you are so incapable of finding it??

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Let's see what other miracles Saint Frank is producing ...

Quad Cities, with a metro population of 379,066 (95% bigger than the Soo and surrounding areas population), is drawing an average of 2,607 fans per night (about 650 fans more than Lake State's per night average).

http://chl.stats.pointstreak.com/attendance.html?leagueid=12&seasonid=5902

In other words, Saint Frank is drawing 1/2 of one percent of his area to his games, while Roque and Co are drawing almost ten percent of his area's population to games.

Carry on, Saint Frank. Your work is never appreciated.

Speaking of being predictable, welcome to the Laker Hockey thread again truth. The Lakers must have lost last night for you to bless us fans with your kind words. Thank you for pointing out its been 6 yrs of making excuses for this coach. We must be getting old because it only took 4 yrs of excuses to get frank fired again.

Frank Anzalone is a good coach and put Laker Hockey on the map, we get it, but that horse is dead so stop beating it! Now calling frank "GREAT" might be a bit much since NHL coaches don't even have that in front of their names but what do they know they only coach in the show.

Now to the part of making fun of the Anzalone's. We, as fans, probably would'nt say anything about frank if you did'nt come on here and make fun of us for being a Laker fan! Everytime their is a loss lo and behold here you are ******ing about us supporting our team. Unfortunately for your family frank had to have the "GREAT" part in his name and did'nt want to be just a resident of the soo but be THE RESIDENT so the other residents evicted him for it. Being humble is a good trait for everyone to have, unfortunatley frank seems to have it only when he gets evicted!

GO LAKERS!

This double post was necessary because of the large amount of less than smart people on the thread today. The Lakers through 11 dates have averaged 2228 fans according to College Hockey News. The Quad City Mallards have averaged 2607 fans through 16 games. Who's the team nobody knows about? The 7440 fans that on average attend Fort Wayne games are better than any CCHA with the exception of Michigan. Who's the league nobody cares about? You might want to check the attendance figures out before assuming the world revolves around college hockey.

But, Boot, you didn't create the post I responded to...unless...unless...you're both Truth Squid and Boot! (shock)

Well ,that's even better than my number of 1,960! So Jim and Co's percentage climbs toward 11%!

The Quad City Mallards have averaged 2607 fans through 16 games. Who's the team nobody knows about?

They are drawing from a population of over 300,000. The Lakers draw from a population of around 22,000. You lose.

The 7440 fans that on average attend Fort Wayne games are better than any CCHA with the exception of Michigan.

Great for Fort Wayne. Is the attendance so good because they are anticipating Saint Frank being coach there someday, and they want to make sure they get their season tickets now?

Who's the league nobody cares about?

The CHL.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

All you Jim Roque haters need to calm down and support this great coach and administration, now in its 6th year of greatness.

This team is a lot better than people think and get better every game. I think the Lakers outplayed Michigan State last night and for 2 periods they held the 10th place team to 0-0 at home. If it wasn't for a couple bad breaks and bad bounces the score would have been 4-0 Lakers. This team just gets better every game.
This team could be the dark horse of the second half. These are the same guys that won two shootouts against a very good Bowling Green team at home. The Lakers could be in the top four by years end. Look at the recruits coming in for next year, this team should really good next year. The power play is almost 13% now and showing improvement. This team is just snake bit. It is hard for the Lake State and the Westerns to compete in college hockey today. Wait till Dan Barchuk gets back into the lineup. Tyson Hobbins is due for an offensive explosion. I would put this coaches conditioning system and x's and o's against anyone in the CCHA.

I say 11-1 Lakers tonight! Coach Roque will have them fired up for sure.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Tonight's attendance of 3,366 was the largest crowd since February 03, 2000 against MSU when there were 3,544.

Sure hope Kapalka is okay. Hope we get an update on him soon.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Sorry serum but Barczuk is no longer on the team. As i mentioned before he will no longer be the scapegoat of this team.

What guts K2 showed tonight holy **** what testiculer fortitude, i am with you 889294 i hope it's nothing too seriouse with him.

There is no way that the Lakers got a fair shake with the zebras tonight. I admit i'm not a big Roque backer but it did my heart some good to watch him chase that little weasel around the rink after the shoot out.

Here I thought this was a college hockey thread but nice reporting. If college hockey doesnt matter to you why are you on here all the time spewing your b.s. You must have wanted to be a reporter growing up writing on your holly hobby notebook. LOL.
Nice job bringing fort wayne's attendance stats to this thread, we were all wondering what they drew.

Nice job by the Lakers tonight to get a couple points by the way, even if the refs tried screwing them out of that.
