Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

Agreed. Although, I do find it ironic that Michigan Tech fans get so bent out of shape over programs leaving the WCHA, considering Michigan Tech has twice left its conference for greener pastures.

Those two times don't count and can't be compared though... ask any tech fan.

Ah yes, how quickly they do forget. ;)

#25 – MIAMI REDHAWKS

Points: 49.19399 Points
Points earned in 2015-2016 0.0754 Points
Points earned in past five seasons: 7.64239 Points
Last Season Ranking: #25

Since coming within a whisker of winning the national championship in 2009, the Redhawks have won 20+ games in several seasons but have been inconsistent lately, with two losing seasons in the last three. They will face a big challenge this season with 14 freshmen on the team.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

yup, got yourselves away from the leeches, like CC and WMU...what exactly do they bring to the table? Not to mention, what money does DU bring to the rest of the conference?

John Saunders' body isn't even cold and now you want to dis his alma mater? Why don't you just spit on his grave? You disgust me.

#24 – UNION COLLEGE DUTCHMEN

Points: 59.33860 Points
Points earned in 2015-2016 0.2283 Points
Points earned in past five seasons: 57.46560 Points
Last Season Ranking: #24

The Dutchmen put together three 20+ winning seasons before stepping it up a notch in ’13-’14, going 32-6-4 and winning the national championship. Last year was a bit of a letdown (13-14-9) but they look in good shape to return to a winning season with 10 of their 11 top scorers returning from last year.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

It certainly doesn't surprise me that a bu fan doesn't know what the acronym GOAT stands for... I mean, bu isn't even the greatest in their own city.;)

Seeing as how there are only two teams in Boston.........
Don't compare us to Northeastern.

Though I guess Harvard plays in Boston....... still, no.

#23 – ST. LAWRENCE SAINTS

Points: 68.63176 Points
Points earned in 2015-2016 0.1947 Points
Points earned in past five seasons: 3.99116 Points
Last Season Ranking: #23

St. Lawrence has had a couple of good seasons, going 19-14-4 last year and 20-14-3 the year before. But the big news is the controversial hiring of a new coach after the unexpected departure of the previous coach. The Saints will need to overcome the loss of their top three centers and an anemic power play to put together another 20 win season.

#22 – YLAE BULLDOGS

Points: 76.09530 Points
Points earned in 2015-2016 1.1863 Points
Points earned in past five seasons: 42.78900 Points
Last Season Ranking: #22

The Bulldogs have had a great run since their last losing season in ’06-’07, winning the ECAC regular season title twice, the conference playoffs twice and the national championship in 2013. They have a challenge ahead this season as they lost the nation’s leading goalie in GAA the last two years to the pros and have nine incoming freshmen.

#21 – NORTHERN MICHIGAN WILDCATS

Points: 81.21689 Points
Points earned in 2015-2016 -0.0074 Points
Points earned in past five seasons: 0.69729 Points
Last Season Ranking: #19

The Wildcats have suffered through four consecutive losing seasons, going 15-16-7, 14-18-6, 15-21-2 and 15-19-4. The last winning season was ’11-’12 when they finished 17-14-6. NMU looks to be in good shape for a return to winning hockey with a good core of players coming back and a promising group of freshmen.

#20 – BOWLING GREEN FALCONS

Points: 81.39493 Points
Points earned in 2015-2016: 0.3487 Points
Points earned in past five seasons: 1.74673 Points
Last Season Ranking: #20

The Falcons have had three consecutive winning seasons, including 20+ wins in ’15-’16 and ’14-’15 but haven’t been able to get past the WCHA playoffs and into the national tournament. They are in good shape to repeat a winning season with 21 players returning from last year’s team.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

Here is great idea. Get rid of Big ten hockey, bring back the CCHA, problem solved.

Never happen, too much money involved. I noticed that you said nothing of the WCHA?

Yes I miss the CCHA at times too but that was back when I was at Michigan. Better time of life, nothing compares to college (or graduate school as the case may be). That was pre-renovation at Yost, the mystique was still there...

Oh wow, I have this urge to yell "Get off of my lawn!"

#19 – PROVIDENCE FRIARS

Points: 82.14561 Points
Points earned in 2015-2016 3.2415 Points
Points earned in past five seasons: 44.26131 Points
Last Season Ranking: #21

The Friars are on a great run, with three straight 20+ win seasons and the national championship in 2015. They will be hard-pressed to continue their success with many key players gone due to graduation and early signing with the pros.

Didn't they win in 2015?

Didn't they win in 2015?

Yup, and UNH beat PC 2 of 3 in their barn to prevent the Friars from making a trip to the Garden in their quest for a HEA championship. I am wondering if UNH will hold onto their 18th ranking after their abominable 2015-2016 season, which could be worth negative points?

They shouldn't put the 4 and 5 so close together on the keyboard. :)

They didn't fall lower than #18, since #19 has been posted and UNH hasn't shown up yet. And they probably didn't move up given their season. So I'm betting UNH is still #18.
