The end of leagues as we know?

Re: The end of leagues as we know?

My lord...seriously learn to read. I know the 5 people who read your blog don't expect you to make any sense, but most of us around here would kind of like it if you could at least post at a fifth grade level.

I never said what the Big Ten did was right...hell I don't like the Big Ten period. My team had zero choice in the matter though, when the Big Ten made their move the Gophers had to leave as did Wisconsin. It is lame and a wasted move, but that was what was in the cards. Or do you think the BADgers and Gophers hold any power within the conference? You might just be smart enough to think that...

Now look at UND. For all their talk about how they are God's gift to college hockey they feel they cannot hold the WCHA to its lofty standards and are going to bail to join a conference that will end up costing them more money anyways. They could stick in the WCHA, win tons of games and help keep support alive for the lesser schools and the kicker is they wouldnt miss a beat. They would sell out their arena, help sell out other arenas, be highly successful and win lots of conference titles. But that isnt good enough for Goon's precious little UND, the Halos are going to choose to ditch their conference for a "better conference" (sorry but I look at it and laugh...that is no superconference) and bend the SCSUs of the world over a table. They dont NEED to, they just WANT to.

So deal with it Goon, your team is everything you supposedly despise. You can defend it all you want to, but fact is you are wrong and everyone is going to call you on it every time you grace this board with your presence. your school is going to do more to kill college hockey around here than the Big Ten ever could...you could have been the heros, but I am just as happy having you guys be the jerkoffs.

Oh and is it Handjob or Hand-Job...I am just wondering. did you add the hyphen in the hopes it would make you look more intelligent? Or is it there to signify that you needed to take a second to finish your thought?

It's the 4th of July weekend and I want to wish everyone a Happy Fourth of July... Wow!!!! You too Handy...First Handy did you fail to take your medication today, holy cow!!! Before you go insulting someone’s intelligence you might want to clean up your own grammar first. :) :) Only time will tell what happens, I think a lot of us are very uneasy. There is a lot of uncertainty, no one like uncertainty say what you want the BTHC started this, you can blame UND and the other "Seven" Schools in the mix but it is what it is... I would imagine people (President's, Athletic Directors and Hockey Coaches) are scared, it reminds me a lot when teams moved around last summer. Lastly, your charge is false, my blog is read by more than 5 people it's probably more like 20 and it's currently ranked 22 on the Top Blog Hockey from Wikio... For that I am grateful. To be honest with you I am going to still go to the games no matter who we play because it's the only game in town. The REA is still going to be full whether UND is playing MSU-M or Minnesota.

Yes I think that is what he thinks. And while I felt he was off base before because UND and DU are still marquee teams (I also add UMD since they just won the title) in the league that fans will go see, if they ditch then the lesser league most likely will be in severe trouble. Now if they can keep the teams afloat the league could be fun and with an autobid on the line could be very competitive but with the way the economy is the only way that happens is if they get some guaranteed sellouts to offset the lesser games. They would need to make sure that games with the Gophers were either home and home or 50/50 split year to year. (with maybe games against Sconnie the other years)
Exactly. If UND, UNO and DU go, what's left are the same schools we play in the other sports in the Northern Sun Conference, plus a couple of other D-II schools. It will simply no longer be an important conference, and the fans will recognize that. It WILL BE the Northern Sun Hockey Conference.

Several programs will end up closing shop and I'm quite certain Mankato will be among them. The minute the program starts losing money, it's history

Exactly. But taking away UND, DU and CC is going to kill the remaining conference where tUMD and SCSU are the two biggest draws by far. But thanks for admitting to being perfectly ok with walking away while giving us the finger.

You're nearly illiterate.

Every post on your blog is a beautiful example to the rest of the world as to exactly what a blog shouldn't be; full of redundancy, specious information and non-sequiturs. It is the antithesis of anything reasonable.

And by the way ... what you've done by providing your wikio ranking is called "argumentum ad populum". It is considered to be a logical fallacy. Which is of course exactly why YOU would use it.

And how is UNO a "fit" for the BHHC? Just cos of Blais? That program has not exactly torn up the hockey world since it started with it's .482 winning percentage.

Re: The end of leagues as we know?

Change sucks. Can we fast forward a year to miss all this drama?

Was the inclusion of UMass intentional or unintentional comedy? :) Vermont would be a better choice or heck, even UMass-Lowell. At least they have had somewhat a taste of national success.

Just looking toward the future ncluding UMass movng up to FBS football and its possible future inclusion in an BCS league.

Double ******;
I see you finally came out from under you rock to grace us with your big words, I think the phrase "Delusion of Grandeur" probably describes you. By the way Last time I checked 22>39!!!

Re: The end of leagues as we know?

You might want to check again.

I know that this will rile many feathers but how about a true East/West "powerhouse" league consisting of:

Maine
UNH
BU
BC
Providence
UMass

Miami
Notre Dame
UNO
North Dakota
CC
Denver

Scheduling - 3 games vs. division, 1 game vs. each vs. other division, total league games = 21

Travel partners - Maine/UNH, BC/BU, UMass/Providence, Miami/ND, UND/UNO, CC/Denver

1) What's wrong with Hockey East?
2) Why Providence?

Re: The end of leagues as we know?

I am glad that my school is being proactive instead of reactive!!!

...

How is this NOT reactive? UND's just like everyone else...a bunch of wieners with an inferiority complex. What? The Gophers did something? What can we do to be as big of a toolbox as they are???

Re: The end of leagues as we know?

Why are you not calling out the other teams in the WCHA that would be joining the "super conference"?
