The Dead thread - God sorts 'em out!

Re: The Dead thread - God sorts 'em out!

I was in Lacrosse for a while when Flip coached the Catbirds. The town loved him and the team. Old ladies went.

Re: The Dead thread - God sorts 'em out!

Ryan White was a hard one to take, as was Matthew Shepard. I was really heart-broken when Freddy died. Lennon (thanks Yoko), Layne Staley and Jerry all stung too. Had I been older Marley passing would have hurt. Hate seeing celebs doing themselves in a la Farley, Belushi, Hoffman, Williams and Candy.

Flip is really tough. Tougher than I ever thought, given my lack of current fandom of the sport. The last time I was this gut-punched with a "famous" death was probably James Best (Roscoe P Coltrane on the Dukes). Just one of those guys you thought would always be somewhere, doing something. It's not the celebrity thing, it's more a memory that they were tied into, or their personality overall. Flip was real. He was just some guy who happened to be deeply ingrained in sports. Wish more were like him.

Put Flip,at the top,of the list. Just wow. :( :( :(

Everything I've heard about Flip is that he was a great guy, a great husband, and a great dad. I'm not a basketball fan, but this is one of the saddest days in Minnesota sports history.
I'm not currently a basketball fan but I had Gopher student season tickets when he played and I've followed his career. Very sad day to loose such a great guy and role model.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Former US Senator and very popular actor Fed Thompson. "Rack 'em, stack 'em and pack 'em." Or something like that.

Re: The Dead thread - God sorts 'em out!

It used to automatically flip, didn't it?

IIRC there have been 4 major upgrades. The early 2000's one (before my time), where it did flip automatically, same with the next upgrade, and with the last two major upgrades, it's been manual.

It flipped on the laptop, let's see if it changes here?

Yep. So have to go to the laptop and do it first.

Mine does it automatically although I get a message on the screen that it has been updated. I have on the Settings page, "DST Correction Option:" set as "Automatically detect DST Settings". I assume that it looks for the DST setting on my computer which automatically does it.

Mine's automatic. You just have to know how to use your tools, Brent.
