Over the last months i have lost most of my childhood heroes so i am hoping this thread stays quiet for a bit.

I guess he finally went down "Memory Lane". Honestly, I thought he was either much older by now, or already long gone. My parents used to listen to him on radio and then later on, watch him on TV.

I still remember the piano intro to his show. He was such a staple of NYC late night TV that every local wit had to have an impression of him. Apparently, he had a library of about 10,000 silent films.

I'm sad to learn of the passing Thursday of John Dufford, a member of the original Penn State varsity hockey team. John was a Marine fighter pilot in WWII and Korea. He died 11 days shy of his 94th birthday.

It was an honor to interview him and to call him my friend. Rest in Peace John

He's been in a few smaller movies, and he reminded me of how big Travolta got before Travolta got jobs after Pulp Fiction.
