The Dead Thread 2024

Kevin Drum.

Back in the glory days of our run-up to invading Iraq, he was one of the first bloggers I began to follow at his site Political Animal.

Kinda stopped following him after he got a big gig writing for Mother Jones, but always enjoyed his particular take on things.

Brett gardiners 14 year old son passed. Girardi was crying talking about it

Brett said his son died in his sleep after becoming very ill on vacation, along with several other family members who got sick.

Gardiner is notoriously private and I’m sure he’s going to be flooded with people blaming vaccinations or something similar.

I’ve had two aunts lose children and it’s the ugliest fucking thing I’ve ever seen

I can't imagine losing one of our kids for any reason, but for it be a freak loss like this (as it stands) would seem even more immensely painful.

Cardinal Theodore McCarrick.

I'm sure he won't get the reception in the afterlife that he's hoping for.
Wherever McCarrick was headed, he's already there.

My Mom didn't trust him. The Lutheran pastor who sold Teddy his old church didn't trust him. Ted was scum from the moment he was ordained until today.

And, don't ever use Cardinal with that piece of poo.

If ++McElroy buries him in the cathedral crypt, he's more of a scum that I think he is.

A few days ago now, but Gang of Four bass player Dave Allen, early onset dementia.

He played on the first two Gang of Four albums before leaving to form Shriekback
