The Dead Thread 2024

Lynne Marie Stewart passed on Feb 21 from cancer. Was Miss Yvonne on Pee-wee's Playhouse. And more recently played Charlie's mom on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. She apparently remained close friends with Paul Reubens and visited him shortly before his death.

Apparently Gene Hackman and his wife died of hantavirus.
That's not how I read it. But maybe the news reports are being revised/updated. I read it as the wife died of hantavirus, and Gene Hackman, suffering from Alzheimers, didn't even know she died, and ended up dying from heart disease due to self neglect (no food was in his system). The evidence pointed to them dying a week apart.

That’s how I saw it as well. And the dog died because it was in the crate with no access to food.

What a horrible way to die
You'd think people in their position would have people to watch over them. I highly doubt Hackman was destitute.

I mean, he probably didn't make the mega salaries that today's stars do, but he was a steadily working actor for over 50 years, he had to have some wealth.

I ask the same question anytime someone of that stature gets a DUI. Pay for a freaking driver ffs.

Some people like privacy. Maybe his wife was completely capable until the hanta hit her . It can take weeks

People are weird. People in their 90s with Alzheimer’s esp. It didn’t even sound like all his kids talk to him very often

Sure, but they were still in their 90s/late 80s.

At least a housekeeper a few times a week, personal assistant to buy stuff for them, do the shopping, etc. I don't care how private you are, no one likes cleaning their house. If you can afford to pay someone to do it for you, you will.
