The Dead Thread 2024

Shit. I loved Flo and Eddie with Zappa, and they were also the harmony from The Turtles.

Edit: link fixed

Volman has looked like he was about to drop dead since 1971.

In a testament to the NHL’s history of marketing and broadcasting, I have no idea who that is.

I have but only because he was one of my dad’s heroes when he was a kid. (He was a goalie and the North Stars didn’t exist yet) Eddie is the reason the Rangers are his favorite team, and one of mine.

To anyone growing up as a Rangers fan in that era, he was the NY Rangers.

He was so beloved, that when he was let go and Detroit picked him up, the very next game was at Madison Square Garden. During the entire National Anthem, the fans chanted "Ed-Die! Ed-Die!" so loud, you couldn't hear the anthem. Giacomin, buried his face in his hands because he was balling his eyes out. You can find it on YouTube. Look it up.

The crowd cheered for Detroit the entire game. Whenever the Rangers scored, loud booing ensued.
