The main reason I still have twatter is because Keith olbermann is a petty, bitter man and spends much of his day screaming at morons. The only subject he’s passionate about more than politics or dogs is baseball, and I enjoyed him screaming at everyone last night crying about rose not being in the hall because of the whole child rape

I was talking to an old Reds fan today at work. He idealized Rose until he was an event with him in the 70s. Rose hit on his sister, hard. He was mid 30s, she was underage. He said after that he heard a ton of stories about Rose. He was a predator.
 
Even without the predator stuff Rose was an A1 prick who got what he deserved. When I was a kid I thought he got hosed but the fact that he lied for decades about betting (when an admission probably gets him into the Hall) then decides to do it just so he can increase his take at conventions and get public support to get into the HOF is just slimey. Add in the predator stuff and PHUCK THAT GUY! Put his record in the HOF because that is the only thing about him that deserves to be there.

We were at a pool at the motel and he came out of his room to yell at someone. I only knew who he was because my dad was like, oh my god that was Pete rose.

my dad loves baseball and I could recite the twins lineup by age 5 so I was pretty excited to hear I’d seen a famous player
 
If he hadn't bet on games he could himself influence the outcome I might have been less inclined to tell him to f**k off regarding the HOF.

I know it seems like a joke but I am serious. People denigrate NPB stats but in that era it was next to impossible for a Japanese player to come over to MLB (Nomo had to loophole himself by “retiring”). Ichiro had zero slowdown in his hitting numbers between NPB and MLB. **** Pete Rose and **** the haters, Ichiro has the hits record.
