Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread
Diamond had a neck strain. He should be able to play tomorrow night. Hegarty turned the puck over on one goal early in the game and Nyquist gave up one also. In fairness to Nyquist he lost an edge on his skate and went down leading to the score. The River Hawks pressured the puck very well. Flynn 's 7 assists (school record), was so much fun to watch. Flynn's 5 goals was the most since Masur did it in 1987 ( back in the Gary Conn era). What a night at the Alfond!
Interesting game, wherever Nyquist was, Lowell overloaded that side of the ice, Flynn was alone. It was fun to watch that line. Dee's line generated some chances, Deks PP goal was a beauty. I wish Diamond was out there on the 4th line, not sure why he wasn't? No matter how excited you got for the offense the D was pitiful, just brutal. Turnovers, missed assignments, bad clears, you name it, the D did it. Darling wasn't on and this game should have been a blow out but it wasn't until the end of the 3rd. I hope Maine gets their D together for Tomorrows game
