Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Who cares? The team is better off with Hegarty playing than sitting. He didn't do anything out of the norm for college students.

Because Tim has to be at fault somehow. If he suspends the kid, then people can criticize him for hurting the team. If he doesn't, they can attack him for being too lenient. It's black and white. No other circumstances matter, because it's not about the kid or his punishment - it's assigning blame to Tim.

Gonna have to disagree with you on this one. I don't think anyone would've criticized him if he had suspended him. It's the policy he's stuck to and now it's different for one kid. He should be criticized for that. I would bet a million dollars that if the team was in the basement right now, he would've been gone for a game or two. Personally I don't care all that much because I'd rather see him play but it's not petty to give Tim a little heat for not following a policy he's stuck to for years now.

If we knew exactly what the policies were then I would agree with you, but I don't know exactly how those read. I saw he lost scholarship money, and that would suck worse.

Do you think Tim heard the details surrounding this situation and decided it wasn't worth a suspension, or do you think he sold out any convictions he had because of the W-L record?

Maybe that's the case (not worth the suspension) but from the outside looking in it seems to deviate from his policy. Seems in the past players were suspended for similar infractions. I do think he's a man of integrity and wouldn't sell out anything. Just sayin.....

He suspended his goaltender for over sleeping and missing class, ferchrissakes.

This isn't worse than that?

So having a drink on a Sunday night is worse than missing a class?

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Okay time to change the subject. 5 goals 2 assists for Brian Flynn tonight all even strength goals. Nyquist 1 goal 4 assists. Maine wins 8-4. Too many goals given up.

Maine now tied with BC on points and 3 points ahead of NU who is in 4th after a win and BU loss to PC. I am almost sorry I'll be in Florida and the Caribbean the next two weeks!

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Almost everything went right for Maine tonight on the Hockey East scoreboard.......only UNH's win over Vermont in OT prevented it from being a PERFECT night. That win probably will all but guarantee UNH a 1st place finish.......2nd place is still ripe for the taking though :). If only Maine could have split at BU..........:(

And of course that loss to PC will come back to bite them!:D :p

The only (temporary hopefully) ****a is they lost some wins against TUC's with Lowell dropping out. They're stuck at the bottom of a pairwise logjam, at least at 10:00pm. In the KRACH they're a solid 12.

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Interesting game, wherever Nyquist was, Lowell overloaded that side of the ice, Flynn was alone. It was fun to watch that line. Dee's line generated some chances, Deks PP goal was a beauty. I wish Diamond was out there on the 4th line, not sure why he wasn't? No matter how excited you got for the offense the D was pitiful, just brutal. Turnovers, missed assignments, bad clears, you name it, the D did it. Darling wasn't on and this game should have been a blow out but it wasn't until the end of the 3rd. I hope Maine gets their D together for Tomorrows game

The PWR will change dramatically when North Dakota's win over UMD becomes final.
