The 2024 GQP Thread: Because Deutsche Gopher Fan ENDED the Last One

Here's Cricket, the victim. May he rest in peace.

I have volunteered with a dog rescue for almost a decade, and growing up with dogs; and Kristi's story isn't out of the norm. For most people in deep red land, dogs are seen as just another tool to hunt with. Tool doesn't work? Get rid of it. Growing up I had a neighbor laughingly tell me he once shot his kids dog because it wouldn't stop barking one night. Never did like interacting with that neighbor after that.

Volunteering as a foster for a dog rescue, we would provide freedom rides to two dozen dogs from one Tennessee county kill shelter every three weeks. For two years straight. The heart breaking stories attached to each dog. One person called the Tennessee rescue and told them they had until sundown to drive to his house and pick up the six beagles because he was "done hunting" and was going to shoot the dogs.

The two I adopted were rescues from Tennessee. One is a sweet Terrier who wants nothing but to snuggle and get love. She was found wandering the street and when returned to her owner with a $25 leash violation, the owner said "keep her, I ain't paying $25."

The other dog I adopted is a pit mix but the most loving dog I have ever had. She was never spayed and was surrendered with her four puppies to the kill shelter because "we don't want her anymore."

Long story short, Kristi Noem is f*cking psychotic and can f*ck all the way off.

Between her and the Wyoming bar sh*tstain, these people really need their own come to Jesus moment before they're on the backside of some eye-for-an-eye justice.

Also, for those keeping score at home, we're now up to:

So we have:
- George Santos starting a GoFundMe for the dog of a veteran in his district and pocketing the money.
- Lara Trump (Eric) funneling money from a dog rescue for their father-in-law.
- Don Jr buys his daughter a puppy to smooth over his divorce. (They now have to co-parent the child AND the dog.)
- Mehmet Oz's medical experiments in the early 2000s agonizingly killed over 300 dogs.
- Mike Huckabee's son (and Sarah's brother) helped "put a dog out of its misery."
- Lauren Boebert was accused of shooting and killing her neighbors dog.
- Rudy Giuliani's wife has a past history of using medical staplers on anesthetized dogs in live marketing shows to other doctors, and then euthanizing them after each show.
- Mitt Romney once strapped his family dog kennel, with dog inside, to the roof of his family car for twelve hour drive. *
- Ted Cruz booked a trip to Cancun during the Texas Freeze and the family dog was an afterthought.
- Brandon Phillips (longtime Republican operative who was to be Rep Mike Collin's Chief of Staff) arrested on animal cruelty charges after kicking a dog.
- Todd Kincannon (former South Carolina GOP Leader) shot, killed, and mutilated his mother's dog.
- Amber Rose Barnes (She lives in Montana, I'm just gonna assume she's Republican) shot and killed a siberian husky thinking it was a wolf pup. The puppy was part of 11 dogs that were dumped in the area and only found by rescuers after she bragged of her kill.
-The Wyoming *sshole who ran down a wolf with a snowmobile, broke its hip, duck taped it's mouth, dragged it into a bar, then shot it.
-This wild admittance from Kristi Noem.

Right wing radio jocks (lose track of which ones) today talking about Noem and how she would now be an election liability in every city and every suburb in the country, especially with the recent doubling down.

Stick a .22 hollow point in Badlands Barbie - that dog won’t hunt.

Telling that story is such an enormous miscalculation on Noem's part that I would almost think she did it deliberately to avoid being picked as his running mate, thus sparing her the full Trump Kiss of Death and leaving her free to pursue a Senate seat in the future. But then you remember that she's stupid enough to think that showing a sociopathic ability to shoot a dog she was simply unwilling to properly train or re-home would somehow show "toughness" to a majority of voters.

You're reading too much into it. It was included in her book, where editors and the publisher all had a chance to tell her "psst, you might want to ix-nay this part," and she most likely said "nope, I want to keep that part."

She really watched the opening minutes of House of Cards and went "Yep, that's ME!" without understanding just how off the rails Frank Underwood was.

It's the perfect example of MAGA mentality though. You're only useful if you can help them personally, and if you have nothing of worth to offer them, then you might as well be dead. in fact, it's better for them if you are dead, and they'd like to see you that way.

Jefferson writes to M. Lewis in January 1804, just after the Louisiana Purchase was finalized, and L & C and their team were wintering in St. Louis:

"The acquisition of the county through which you are to pass has inspired the public generally with a great deal of interest in your enterprise. The enquiries are perpetual as to your progress. The Feds, alone, still treat it as philosophism, and would rejoice at its failure. Their bitterness increases with the diminution of their numbers and despair of a resurrection. I hope you will take care of yourself and be the living witness of their malice and folly."

Sounds somewhat familiar.

I don’t think sadistic animal murderer Kristi should have gone on face the nation today. What an embarrassment. Fetterman was on after her and needed a moment to compose himself
