Isn't there some sage wisdom from all the way back in 2018 about voters (particularly conservatives) who feel isolated, dismissed, and powerless rejecting representative democracy instead of changing their views? ;-)
Here's the thing I've learned. It doesn't matter how much you belittle them, curse them, or grit your teeth, listen to and try to "understand" them. Most of them have no interest in learning anything new, considering any actual facts, or changing their opinions. They believe their precious gut feelings and "alternative facts" are just as good as your actual stats or data. Every once in awhile, you read about some former neo-Nazi who has repented and now spends their time trying to deprogram other neo-Nazis, usually with minimal success.
So as far as I'm concerned, it's not anyone's job or responsibility to try and change these people's minds, or compromise with them. All we can do is try to minimize the damage they are able to do, with proper messaging to people who aren't fascists, and by voting in greater numbers than they do.
