Re: The 2016 NCAA Frozen Four

Wisconsin played two games at Lake Whit in November 2014.
Minnesota's seniors played a pair of games in Durham as freshman back in November 2012.
Clarkson has not played at UNH since Oct. 2010.

Re: The 2016 NCAA Frozen Four

just curious if fans in the past were able to watch the games at bars/restraunts

I was at work (downtown Mpls) during the Canada-USA gold medal game in 2014, I decided to go to a large eating area that usually has a TV playing the news for lunch goers, thinking the game would be on. WRONG!
On the way back to work I stopped at two bars, both had basketball games but no Olympic hockey, PATHETIC, they call this the State Of Hockey?

just curious if anybody has been anywhere where the games were on the tube.

Yes, back when the Frozen Four used to be televised and it was a channel I didn't get. We called ahead to make sure that they'd have at least a couple screens tuned to the women's game. I watched the 2010 women's gold medal game in a sports bar as well.

Now, one would have to find a bar that would show an internet stream, and the odds of that aren't very good.

The inside scoop is that the Gopher marketing department is working on setting up a viewing party like they did in 2014. I'll post details in the Gopher thread once things are finalized.

I was among a large number of Gopher fans who viewed the 2014 final on internet stream at Senser's in Roseville.

There is always Lake Placid to practice on.

One factor really working against you finding such a bar in Madison... the UW men's NCAA tournament basketball game tips off at 5:50 PM Friday, ten minutes before hockey game time.

D'oh!

yeah, bad timing, LOL, we don't have that problem in MN :o

you'd think only two wins away from a nat'l championship, somebody somewhere would put it on a screen, at least a student viewing area or something

a viewing party at Ridder
I went to the 2003 viewing party at Mariucci which was set up in hopes of avoiding a repeat of 2002 Dinkytown riots
did not work out as planned, immediately after the game was over a bunch of students got up and left "Let's go burn down Dinkytown"
and try they did

BTW, early November or so somebody started a poll on who and when would the last undefeated team fall.
I picked BC to fall in the semi, anybody pick them to fall in the final, or go undefeated? In that poll.

I was going to say that too, as I was one of the large number, who watched the game at Sensers. They usually have all the games televised, I know if you call they will tell you.

Frozen Four Coverage
All three games will be streamed live at NCAA.com for free, and free audio and live stats will be available at GopherSports.com. The 2016 national championship game is scheduled to air on tape-delay on CBS Networks next Sunday, March 27 as well.
