I agree, that BC penalty looked like a weak call to me.
And I thought that Carpenter was in the kitchen making cocktails.
She needs to make her presence known.

I'm watching the women's game on the computer and the Yankees-Twins game on FSNorth on TV. I'm surprised in the "state of hockey", I haven't heard any updates on the Minny-BC score from the announcers.
Minny 1 BC 0 after 1. Clarkson should have left behind their Green jerseys for BC.

Thats for sure. Even though Burt let in that first goal in the first 13 sec of the game, she made 3 or 4 tremendous glove saves. Minny could easily have been up 4 or 5 to 0 and well Grant would be looking for that proverbial rock to crawl under and die.

IMHO the referees have swallowed their whistles, especially compared to the guys that did the Clarkson - BC game on Friday. Cheeh.

You can tell bc isn't used to WCHA style play. Imagine if they had to play the fighting whatchamacallits.

I don't have a pony in this race...simply watching the national championship game so my opinion is completely unbiased

At times when UM has the puck in BC's end, BC seems content to wait for something to happen as opposed to making something happen...dangerous.
And there's not enough support around the net for BC's offence...they've got to get Leveille moving side to side...these 15-20 foot shots are unlikely to pay dividends.
Fast entertaining game and the choolies are playing great but it will be disappointing if there's not 3 or 4 more goals scored considering the offensive resumes involved here.

Leveille doing a better than normal job controlling her rebounds, and BC maybe not as 'ready' for them when they do come as they should be.

I don't think it's necessarily "diving". It seems pretty clear to me that they are used to a game called a different way. You get touched, you go down, you get a call. That must be the way the game is called in the HEA. If they did that in the ECAC, they'd be on the ground watching a lot of game happening. There isn't anyone out there diving, they're playing their butts off.

I've been to my share of ECAC women's games. Honestly, you can't tell the difference between the men's game as far as body checking, short of the really hard checks. I was surprised that the WCHA refs on Friday in the CCT/BC game called such a tight game. It seemed like you could get a minor for breathing on the opponent but you could do anything with the stick.
