The 2016 Beanpot: The Sacred Quest for the Holy Grail of College Hockey in Boston

Re: The 2016 Beanpot: The Sacred Quest for the Holy Grail of College Hockey in Bosto

Gaudette had some fantastic chances in the BC game at Conte but either hit the side of the net, fell down and missed it completely, or shot it wide. If he could shoot he would have had 3-4 goals in that game.
7 game point streak now for him. Nice to see a young guy stepping up.

Three things from that video....

1. Those red NU jerseys were my fave of all the 428 jersey options I've seen since I've been following college hockey.
2. They had the Beanpot logo at center ice. They don't do that anymore, do they? I think the one year the NHL was locked out they had a full Beanpot logo there.
3. It was funny seeing Quinn behind the bench.

I will maintain to my dying day that had NU worn the "1988 reds" in the 2014 and 2015 finals, Patrick Brown would never have made the "immaculate deflection" in 2014 and Cameron Voss would never have made that horrendously asinine OT penalty call in the 2015 final.

That overtime call was absolutely horrendous. Still makes me sick thinking about it. ..

As NU will be the "road" team for the intro round against BU (predominantly white with red trim) why shouldnt NU wear their 1988 styled "reds" I agree with Scarlet on that point, well said, those sweaters destroy all others (at least in NU history) Is it possible to find out? Matt left NU last year so we cant ask him,and I don't know the new Equiptment Manager is (If he even makes those decisions.) That being said, who does make these decisions? #bringbackthereds

Re: The 2016 Beanpot: The Sacred Quest for the Holy Grail of College Hockey in Bosto

I doubt NU even had red jerseys made for this team honestly. We haven't used them all year and there was no guarantee we'd be wearing dark in either Beanpot game until a week ago. The last time we wore reds in the Beanpot it was because we had already had them made for Frozen Fenway that year. Full expecting the standard black, which is fine by me anyway. It's something different from Harvard wearing red, BU wearing red, and BC wearing some weird Newton knock-off brand of red.

Wonder if beanpot logo is dependent on when bruins play at home next?

.

I hope and pray for the first all time Harvard-Northeastern final.

good luck with that but it would be nice to finally see and it would be the first final where everyone in the building would be rooting for the same team

Harvard dominated BU earlier this season for the better half of the game at Bright.

too bad it's a 60 minute game and you do realize that BU's MO is they are killer in the third period, right?

Cameron Voss would never have made that horrendously asinine OT penalty call in the 2015 final.

took a strong man to make that correct call!
