The 2016 Beanpot: The Sacred Quest for the Holy Grail of College Hockey in Boston

Re: The 2016 Beanpot: The Sacred Quest for the Holy Grail of College Hockey in Bosto

Well then I guess because there was a snow-related accident 150 miles away, we should just cancel everything despite there being no suitable postponement date.

I didn't say that...I'm just saying that there are still six hours before the championship game and it is going to get worse. There is no perfect solution and there isn't one that is going to satisfy everyone. But I also think that sometimes consideration is not given to people outside the MBTA "jurisdiction" when these decisions are made. We can't all walk, take a bus or hop onto a subway to get there.

Games taking place in Boston aren't cancelled based on whether someone from Fitchburg can drive in. Are events in Fitchburg determined based on whether those from Boston can drive out? The teams are located here, the venue is located here, the majority of those attending the game are here and in surrounding towns, it must be determined based on what it's like here, not an hour or two away. If the Garden were open tomorrow night then yeah sure, go for it. But there is not a single open date in the month of February that is viable without creating a problem for all four teams.

I didn't say that either. But I'll just stay home and shut up. Apparently you have a problem with me, because you chimed in when I made a comment about why I didn't attend Red Hot Hockey in New York, too. And this is why people in the rest of the US hate us and call us "provincial."

Nothing personal, just disagree with the line of thinking in this case.

Stop and take a break. You're way way way off on this one.

Except that they said it was such a massive storm that it is still going to extend well inland. In fact, they're saying it won't end until 2:00 a.m. I can't dispute why they want to play, but it's not going to be a fun evening. The snow has started too soon and travel will be a nightmare by game time - and after.

Everyone seems to forget that last year's final was delayed by weather for a couple of weeks.

The weather is worse where I am driving from than in Boston. I'll wait until 4:30 to make my decision, but it will likely to be stay home and watch it on TV.
The Garden probably won't care, because they already have our money.
Less concessions for the Jacobs, but with a traditional pre-game dinner in the North End, I don't buy anything else at the game other than a program, which I already have from the opening round.

Re: The 2016 Beanpot: The Sacred Quest for the Holy Grail of College Hockey in Bosto

Things are dying down already based on what I am seeing on Twitter. There should be no issues playing the game.

Of course at this point, the consolation game warm-ups must be about to start, right?

no, they hate us because of the Patriots, make no mistake. Didn't hate us before all spygate stuff and the follow up faux pas by the particulars

Since you brought that up, wasn't that one of the sloppiest Super Bowls ever? Brady must have gotten sick watching that game. Pats definitely beat Carolina. This season was lost on November 29 when Chris Harper fumbled a punt he should have not gotten within ten miles of, because it was going to die in the snow anyway. If the AFC Championship is in Foxboro, Brady, Belichick and the Pats have won 5 Super Bowls now.

I'll say this. I have a lot of respect for Coach Quinn bringing in the junior Terriers team and their adopted special needs teammate right into the locker room today before the game.

Why is the game delayed?
