In my day, you had to walk to the Beanpot in the snow, uphill, both ways, to see BU win. Thanks to progress, now we have class stratification!

It is never a good thing for one team to dominate a tournament. It was bad when Bu kept winning and bad now that BC keeps winning it. Need to get Harvard and NU winning this thing. But I agree it was very exciting and everyone watching enjoyed it (except the Bu and NU fans).

The game itself was great, but if you don't think NU or Harvard need to win this thing to restore some of the luster you are not paying attention.

It's bad for the Beanpot like income inequality is bad for the nation. But megarich CEOs are jerks, while BC hockey players are ubermensch who shoot laser beams out of their eyes, so my Massachusetts liberal conscience feels no hypocrisy.

Great game, I think there are some chinks in BC's armor though. Unless Gaudreau's line is on the ice, they do not dominate play. I could see a well balanced team taking them out in the dance. They have another good goalie though who saved the bacon more than once tonight. Northeastern, if they make it, looks like a final eight team as well. Having seen Union and QU in person recently, I would not be surprised to see Minn., BC QU, and Union in Philly.

The 1980s was the most even distribution of the pot since then it's been a yawn possibly even for the fans of the two schools that was on their run. Really the NU and Harvard programs SB embarrassed IMO

Keep in mind that they were missing a top dman in the country IMO and pulled a forward to slot him back there on D and put a kid that is not very good up front in his place. It changes up everything and breaks up a good banging line of Silk, Calnan, Gilmour. When they get healthy and slotted correctly (hopefully) they are going to be a handful as Maine found out recently at Conte with the full, correct lineup.

too bad we had to pull Witt at the end.. but would suck to lose 2-1 regardless.. so the way it goes.

By 2020, if Harvard or NU can't win, end the tournament and create one with more compelling teams.

Also, Matt Benning was horrible all game. Absolutely embarrassing, felt bad for him. That he was put on the ice for the empty net was terrible coaching.

Witt was the best player on the ice. He was the only reason it wasn't 3-0 BC after one. The game-winning goal was a fluke deflection off the stick of a guy on his ***. 4th goal was garbage time.
