The 2013 New England Patriots

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

I'd go find out what Branch is up to. Has he kept himself in shape or ballooned up to 300 pounds? Either way, I might still give him a tryout as it would be nice if someone Brady is familiar with can take the field in case he needs to dump off a pass on a short route once in awhile. Against a better defense these current receivers are going to get Brady killed.

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

You have to love the people that say that the reason the offense is terrible is because of Brady' "body language". While it would be nice if he could stow the attitude, he could be all smiles and the offense would still be godawful.

.
The offense is terrible because it is, simple as that. The rookies can't seem to catch a ball except when they are all alone.

Throw the ball to Edelman all the time is not a great strategy. Sadly, if the rookies can't make catches and the running game gets shut down, we have no other options.

I'm pretty sure this team will be 3-3 or worse after 6. I'm also sure they will throw to the rooks in the 1st, in the 2nd? that will depend on the 1st. Gronk would help a lot.

Donte Stallworth only killed one guy.

I predict the rookies do a great job catching on .... Clever, huh?

If the team thought hey couldn't catch they'd have 10 guys willing to drive to Foxboro for try outs...if they don't bring in a handful of guys then I would guess they feel the drops were just jitters.

Or bring in 1-2 guys just to scare the rookies.

To be honest, it'd be a better reality show than whatever that Fenway green monster seating dating program was.

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

WEEI is reporting 50-50 chance Gronk plays against the Bucs

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

I'd have given Welker whatever he wanted. Not many guys like him who will go into those places over the middle, make those catches, and not spend half his time on the injured list. He's clutch. You need guys like that, and they're worth every penny you pay them.

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

NESN is terrible when it isn't showing the Bruins <strike>or Red Sox</strike>.
FYP. The Red Sox broadcasts are getting pretty bad with all the promos. Last night they had an interview with a woman from FW Webb (one of the major sponsors) extolling the virtues of the family restrooms (eco-friendly hands free flushing!) during play.

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

3-0 but will they be at .500 after their next 3? At least Edelman didn't have to catch every pass. Not sure if the Bucs offense is that bad or the Pats D was that good

Oh, our offense is that bad. Been absolutely ugly this year.

Thanks for helping us in the #BustForBridgewater contest.

I was worried about Atlanta but didn't they get smoked by Miami on Sunday?

One thing I've noticed with the Pats is that they finally have a cornerback who can match up against the other team's best receiver. Talib does a simple but effective thing that McCourty, etc never learned to do, which is turn around and see where the $%^&ing ball is.

Regarding the O, I'll be interested to see what happens when Gronk and Amendola come back. That leaves a lot less passes going to the new guys. Really only one of them out of the three is going to see a significant # of passes coming their way. Might be a good idea to cut down on the drops beforehand...

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

What encouraged me was that this week the O was much better than the last two weeks and the O got much better as the game went on. First period: passing 3 for 7, two sacks, Brady looked confused and held on to the ball for a long time. I grumbled because they were passing on third and short -- thought it would be nice to try and establish the run. Second period and after: passing 22 for 29 one sack, two TD's. Also, the bad plays were not receivers' screwups; the red zone interception was Brady's bad.

Shocked at the Atlanta result. Are the Fins that good, or was Atlanta that bad? Atlanta did win the stats battle.
