Re: The 2011 Boston Red Sox: This Space for Rent

Well, the long road is over (for now) and the Sox are back to .500 at 20-20. The amazing thing is the Sox are only a handful of games out of first place.

Uhhh, not back to .500. They've been under since opening day (unless you mean they were at .500 when they were 0-0). And yeah, they're very lucky that Tampa Bay also started out 0-6, and the Yankees have their own set of problems.

Lackey to 15 day DL with right elbow strain

Atchinson up from Pawtucket. No idea on tomorrow's starter since I am stuck watching the Orioles telecast....

And Dice takes one off the ribs on pitch #1. Still in there though

That is terrible.

See you in August.

Edit: No starter has been named yet but it seems like it would be Wakefield.

They fought almost all the way back, and then that first pitch to Lowrie was 4-5 inches outside and was called a strike. It defined the entire at-bat, as Lowrie was defensive throughout. Electronic strike zones, now!

Dead in the clutch tonight.

Woo! Gonzo with the walk off Wall Ball!

What an at bat from Pedy.

From NESN's Twitter
Sox rotation going forward: Buchholz, Beckett, Lester, Aceves, Wakefield. Bowden in bullpen, Wheeler to be activated later in week.

Re: The 2011 Boston Red Sox: This Space for Rent

So Phil Coke and Clay Buchholtz combine for a 1-0 pitcher's duel. Now watch the "pitching matchup of the century" between Verlander and Beckett end up 9-7.

Re: The 2011 Boston Red Sox: This Space for Rent

Had to flip over from the hockey game to see what "Fielder's choice to left" on Gamecast meant.:)

Re: The 2011 Boston Red Sox: This Space for Rent

Crawford has turned it around in May, numbers are much better than his April start.

Sox signed Kevin Millwood, give him a few starts in the minors and see how he looks. If he works out he will eat up innings as a starter and give the bullpen a break.

Bard, you and your straightball continue to redefine clutch.

i dont think either of those homeruns were fastballs.. looked like a bad changeup then a bad slider. though you could argue that a 91 mph changeup is still a fastball!
