And interestingly enough, Crawford was not one of them. As he got about 76% of all his stolen bases against the Sox, I'm thinking his stolen base numbers are going to be low this season.

They'll be lower, but Boston's SB allowed will be, too. And playing Tampa will be at least a little bit less annoying. :)

Looks like the offense might need to wake up again. Buchholz is doing well enough, but he's not lights-out today.

Right now, this team is as fun to watch as it was frustrating to watch the first couple of weeks of the season.

I wouldn't be so sure that they're going to get tonight's game in. There's a wall of storms coming across Michigan right now, and we're about 75 minutes from game time. There's an awful lot of green on the radar map. We just got through a tornado warning.

See for yourself, if this turns out okay

It looks like the front is just passing through A2 right now. Maybe a 7:45 start? 8?

Though I'm not going to cry if Boston misses Verlander.

Beckett was very effective in an odd way. Most pitchers would have given up six or seven runs with that lack of command. And the hitters, despite getting few hits, built up the pitch count, which would have worked against most non-Verlander pitchers.

I still can't believe they let the game end with the Red Sox still behind. I didn't think that was allowed. :confused:




Congrats to Beckett for hanging in there. And, of course, to Verlander.

Nice job by Aceves today. This is why he's valuable in the bullpen. 4 extra-innings pitched for the win.

They were due for a speedbump. Nice to see they're back on track after the White Sox series.

For as long as the ump gets suspended for starting ****? Pap wasn't even talking to him, had turned around and the ump takes off his mask and comes out from behind the plate. That confrontation was entirely caused by the umpire. Of course, MLB will suspend Pap but not say a word about the ump.

And you expected different. Outside of Big East basketball, can anyone name an official being held responsible??
Tim Higgins used to do my HS games in the early 70's. He was good then, too.
