Ironically, I made that choice on the basis of my belief that Lundberg in net could steal a game, but she didn't play!

DC...Indecisive on this Tilt ?.

FMP - Thanks - I need all the help I can get!

I probably could have run at 50% ties this week, but I made a stab at predicting which of 2 evenly matched teams would have puck luck. Let's see how that turns out:confused::rolleyes:

Tuesday, October 25:
Cornell at Colgate....Big Red all the way

Friday, October 28:
Princeton at Union...Princeton looking good early
Quinnipiac at Rensselaer....Tough to pick with the slow Quinny start. This might be their breakout weeekend.
Brown at Colgate ...Another tough pick, going with the home team
Dartmouth at Clarkson ...Great matchup. Clarky starting to become my darkhorse team to make some noise.
Harvard at St. Lawrence ...SLU has impressed early on, northern teams will be tough this year.
Yale at Cornell....Big Red all the way

Saturday, October 29:
Brown at Cornell ....Big Red all the way
Princeton at Rensselaer..Tough to pick, going with Princeton to go two and oh
Quinnipiac at Union.....The Quinny breakout weekend continues
Dartmouth at St. Lawrence....Staying with the North home meal cooking is good looking.
Harvard at Clarkson ...Ditto
Yale at Colgate ....More NY State home cooking.

I thought it was regulated that teams could only play two games a week? Is that incorrect?

Not sure if there is such a rule, but aware of instances in the past where ECAC teams played three games in a week.

Note that Colgate did not play last weekend, so maybe the rule counts from Friday to Thursday or another midweek date range split, in which case they would not be in violation.

I'm not aware of any such rule either.

Re: The 2011-2012 ECAC Posters Pool - Week three lineup.

Pretty sure it's not a rule and more a general guideline as the Hockey East teams (and Harvard) tend to get swamped with many games over a 7-10 day time frame as they also compete in the Beanpot. I looked back and BC played 5 games in 8 days in the beginning of February. Alot of wear and tear in a short period of time and I do remember the team being physically and mentally drained at that point. Scheduling conflicts with the arena and other factors tend to lead to such a tought time frame.

Looks like DC78-82 has some company this coming weekend, in predicting a Union win. I do think that U may have a chance of escaping the cellar this year and may post some surprising wins, but its still a gutsy call to go with them in any given game. I know RPI fans aren't supposed to cheer for Union in any sport, but I have to admit my heart is with them when they're not playing the Engineers. Did anyone check out the box scores of the Union / Syracuse games? That must have been some exciting hockey!

Thanks. I did look it up since I have thought that was the rule for 5 years so I wanted to clarify it in my mind

Anyway, the rules only talk to number of hours per week....

17.02.1 Countable Athletically Related ActivitiesCountable athletically related activities include any required activity with an athletics purpose involving student-athletes and at the direction of, or supervised by one or more of an institution's coaching staff (including strength and conditioning coaches) and must be counted within the weekly and daily limitations under Bylaw 17.1.5.1 and 17.1.5.2. Administrative activities (e.g., academic meetings, compliance meetings) shall not be considered as countable athletically related activities. Revised: 10/31/02 effective 8/1/03)

17.1.5.1 Daily and Weekly Hour Limitations-Playing SeasonA student-athlete’s participation in countable athletically related activities (see Bylaw 17.02.1) shall be limited to a maximum of four hours per day and 20 hours per week. (Adopted: 1/10/91 effective 8/1/91)

(And in case you were wondering how game days were counted, since they seem to last all day!)

17.1.5.3.2 Competition Day.All competition and any associated athletically related activities on the day of competition shall count as three hours regardless of the actual duration of these activities.
