The 2011-2012 ECAC Posters Pool

Re: The 2011-2012 ECAC Posters Pool - Week 10 & 11 (Holiday) lineup

Overloaded at work, so will not get a chance to tabulate the holiday pool results until this coming weekend.

That's okay. Why don't we just skip the holiday pool predictions and move on? :D

Holiday Season Week 10/11 Poolie results:

Sorry to disappoint you Hab, but did not forget about the holiday picks. :p

As promised earlier last week here are the results for the Holiday Picks Week 10 and 11:

Picking percentage was low. Everyone struck out on four of the 20 games, the Tigers win over the Crimson, the SLU wins over BC and NE and the Tie between Dartmouth and Princeton. As a matter of fact there was little love for Princeton, and on the four games the Tigers players played over this period, Cali was the only one to pick up any points on those games. Did her little good as she faltered on other games.

In the end it was a three way tie between Atlantic Puck, Hockey Teacher and MattJ for the weekly honors. Congrats to them.

Despites Qwhfan assertion the GoCu11 did the best, he was off to batting under 50%.

The 2011-2012 ECAC Posters Pool - Week 12 results

Week 12 Poolie results:

The ECAC game results over the weekend had all the bottom teams losing to the upper half teams.

As a result, this past week was a "pad your stats week" for many in the pool. Half the field had 15 of 16 correct, most only missing the Union - Uconn Tie.

Here are the pool results for this past week.

Yearly Standings:

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Poolie king MattJ leading the charge in both the Batting Average and Points race. He took over the batting average lead from Slewfoot over the Holidays.

Hockey Teacher and OnMAA chasing in the points race, GOCU and Hockey Teacher in the thick of the Batting average race.

Welcome aboard to new poolie fan EastFan 1 who joined the party during the festive season.

The 2011-2012 ECAC Posters Pool - Week 13 lineup

The 2011-2012 ECAC Posters Pool - Week 13 lineup

Lineup for lucky week 13:

Note the game tomorrow so get your picks in:

A lot of interesting contests this week.

The Bears and the Bulldogs traveling to Albany. Four crucial head to head games in the fight for the final playoff spot, which brings me to bonus point question one:
Who will grab the last playpoff spot: Colgate, Brown, RPI, Union or Yale.

The Big Red is traveling to Ivy rivals Dartmouth and Harvard. An opportunity for them to solidfy first place. Meanwhile North Country rivals, Clarky and red hot SLU play a head to head double header this weekend. This brings me to bonus question number two: Given that Cornell is likely to finish first, there appears to be a fierce battle shaping up for second place. Who will finish second: Clarkson, SLU, Harvard, Dartmouth or Quinnipiac

Tough to pick a game of the week out of this lot, but it has to be Cornell vs Harvard.

Good luck to all the prognosticators.

Are you calling a TIE between Cornell and Syracuse or did you just fail to bold one team? If its the former, I think we should offer mega bonus points.

I know you are the Queen of the ties, BUT there can not be any ties for the final regular season standings. There are tiebreakers that will resolve any end of regular season ties. So by definition you won't get any points for Bonus question two, unless you make a single team choice.

Note that you forgot to pick a winner for the Tuesday game.

Re: The 2011-2012 ECAC Posters Pool - Week 13 lineup

Lineup for week 14:

Another week with an early start, a Tuesday tilt between Brown and Yale. Get you picks in on time.

Results for week 13 to follow later tonight.

After this coming weekend, everyone will be at 16 games played. While Cornell appears to have first place pretty well in the bag, there are tight races involving many teams for coveted spots two and three, for both home ice and stay away from Cornell in an earlier round. There is also a tight race for the last play-off spot that looks to go down to the wire.

Key match-up for the week is the home and home between Union and RPI. Those two games will go a long way towards determining those teams playoff hopes.

Good luck to all.
