Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

alright, giving this thread a bump because roughly 23.5 hours from now, the terriers will have a 30th 'pot under their belt. see you all at the dugout in 24.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

roughly 23.5 hours from now, the terriers' hockey season will have effectively ended (unofficially of course).

Fixed your post. :D

And I'll gladly drink to that at the Dugout tomorrow night.

Tommy Cross is back so you can talk about how much you hate him for committing to BC and then to BU even though it never happened (ironic that in the aftermath of that comment you are waiting on Adam Clendenning but I digress).

if you are going to dig up year and a half old comments that came from a source that was admittedly inaccurate, at least narrate them correctly.

additionally, if clendenning bails, i'll be bitter towards him for being a ship jumper, after planning to commit post-championship and then dodging out when the team hits the skids. ill stick to my guns on this one, because a guy like that would imo have no place on the terrier roster. if he sticks it out and plays here next year, we will know he has the right kind of attitude.

Or that he couldn't secure the deal he wanted to play major juniors

Sorry Terrierist, but Joe has the right idea here. If Clendening doesn't come, it won't be because BU's bad and he just decided he didn't want to go here anymore. It'll be because he never planned on going to BU and was only using the school to drive up bids from junior teams. I hope he ends up coming simply because I hate to see kids use college like that, although I realize there's nothing anyone can do to stop it.

Oh snap. I just got served. I think this might be the first time you actually admitted to making up that lie. Good for you.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

in case anyone's interested, I wrote a story diving a little bit into the history of the Beanpot trophy and the replica they now use to present to the winning team... also posted this on the BU thread last night, but the story is up on College Hockey News now with some additional pictures:

hope everyone enjoys the game tonight....

Hi everyone,
Check out my new Beanpot feature at http://www.goterriers.com/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/020810aae.html for a look at what Kevin Shattenkirk's day will be like, starting when he waked up around now.

It also features some thoughts on the BU-BC matchup and an update on Colby Cohen's health status for tonight.

And for those interested in the full story on how BU won seven championships last year, including the Beanpot, go to www.buhockeybook.com

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

I'm not sure what is more shocking, not using the pet name "shatty" (if anyone were to use it, it would be weighart) or pimping that crappy book for the 2,000th time. Sales must really suck to constantly have to post about it (who does the marketing for the company publishing and distributing?). I am amazed that someone could not be totally embarrassed to constantly post about this stupid book like we keep seeing.

Here's an excerpt from the most recent work...

Beanpot Monday.

Shatty: "Gee, my groin is a little sore from last Friday's game."
Weighart: "Let me rub that for you and make it all better, shatty."
Shatty: "Uhhhh... no thanks pal. You're not a doctor. And why do you and Rogie constantly insist on touching my tweaked groin?"
Weighart: "No I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night. Anyway, we just want to help the program any way we can."
*awkward pause*
Weighart: "Hey, do you want to buy my book!?"

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

Finally, this looks like a BU/BC thread.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

i cant believe he lets you type in the bed

I can't believe Nick uncuffed you from the headboard this early.

nice of you to waked up and chime in, pickle puffer.

Anytime, pillow biter.

Bravo, sirs. Bravo.

Just to make sure we don't get too far away from the self-promotion, we're live blogging both games tonight.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

I'm unfortunately not in the Boston area for this year's festivities, nor does it look like my cable provider is carrying the game. Does anyone know of a reputable stream I could latch onto?

I recommend the method I've been using this year - a local bar with DirectTV.
