Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

Wow. Patman makes allegations that Planned Parenthood is corrupt and guilty of conducting illegal (not immoral - illegal) business. We ask for documentation because we aren't aware of these alleged illegalities and you say we're dodging. Dodging what exactly? You and Patman aren't telling us what we're dodging. You haven't raised any points for us to dodge!

Focus. PP's grisly history. Margaret Sanger. I didn't say anything about them doing anything illegal (though it wouldn't surprise me). I said they have a grisly history. You made some statement about nobody is perfect. Yah, that explains statements like this from Margaret Sanger "We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population." Or "The marriage bed is the most degenerating influence in the social order." Or "The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it." Yup, every other interest group is like that.

Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

They can't avoid what they don't know about! They're asking for you to supply documentation of PP's very checkered past as all you're saying is that they have one. There's a large possibility that they're not familiar with PP's forays into the immoral and illegal, so it's up to you to show them (and it's not that hard for you to do it). It's not a hard concept to understand. So post some links so they can see the past of PP, and then you can watch them dodge that info. If you're too lazy to google a link for your own argument, why would someone else do it?
Except they didn't say they wanted to discuss its history, they avoided it, wanting to only focus on right now and making broad generalizations that nobody's perfect or whatever. You really need to read the posts in question more carefully before wading in here.

Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

So, Patman says they're corrupt, Bob changes the subject, and Priceless etc. is avoiding the issue?

And you folks believe that Michele Bachmann can't be elected? Really?

Priceless was responding to my post about Margaret Sanger (today at 9:02 to help you out). Please stay with the plot.

Reading comprehension seems to be in short supply today. Maybe you and Rimbaud can get together on work on it.

Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

What do Margaret Sanger's quotes from 100 years ago have to do with anything that Planned Parenthood is (illegally, allegedly) doing today?

That's where you changed the subject. Try to keep up.

Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

A few more gems from Sanger:

"Birth control itself, often denounced as a violation of natural law, is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or of those who will become defectives."

"Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race."

"The undeniably feeble-minded should, indeed, not only be discouraged but prevented from propagating their kind."

"Give dysgenic groups in our population their choice of segregation or sterilization."

Heck, she accepted an invitation to speak to the KKK.

Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

Obviously you can't engage, and Patman has pulled a Jimmy Hoffa, so there's no point in continuing this discussion. Since neither one of you can point out these criminal activities Planned Parenthood currently engages in, I'm going to assume you have zero evidence and are full of ****. But please, keep those 100 year old quotes from Margaret Sanger coming. I'm sure they impress someone.

That was my first post. I brought up a new angle that Priceless and Foxton both dodged. The person who founded and ran PP for much of its early history and who is still highly honored by the organization is certainly germane to how one looks at PP.

Didn't know I had to clear my posts with you to see if you think I'm going off of some subject you think I should keep my posts to. You really do make me chuckle at times.

All I said was you changed the subject and you said I couldn't read. I make you chuckle? You make me guffaw.

I wasn't on any other subject. That was my first post on anything related, and I didn't reference Patman's comments at all. What in the world are you whining about me not staying on some subject you insist I stay on.

Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

Says the one who thinks he can tell others what subject they should be posting on.

I said you changed the subject. I didn't say you couldn't change the subject.

You have gall to tell someone else they can't read.

You apparently can't read. I can't know for sure, but I have to go on what evidence you present.

So, tell me, what subject have I failed to stay that I was supposed to?

Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

"Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race."

Well, I think we can all admit that the people who use birth control are on the whole cleaner than the people who don't.

Meanwhile we're talking about Sanger and not the supposed corruption of an organization who does over 1,000,000 cervical and breast cancer exams a year. And Kepler apparently thinks Catholics are unclean.

And Henry Ford made anti-semetic quotes and accepted the Grand Cross of the German Eagle from a German consulate in 1938. Clearly the Ford Motor Company is financing Arab efforts against Israel because of things its founder said decades ago. Rotten to the core.

Not an apples-to-apples comparison. In case you didn't notice the product Ford was providing did not relate to his views, no matter how poor his views were. There is such a nexus with Sanger and PP.

Or maybe a lot of people around here are on board with eugenics, etc. that Sanger promoted.

Re: The 112th Congress - The first Orange-American to be elected Speaker

Yeah, we're all on board that train, Bob. You can certainly conclude that from what we've been saying.
