Re: The 112th Congress - A Congress divided shall not cry!

Are you really going to lose sleep over it?
See how easy it is?

No, I think its funny that Obamas words fell on deaf ears. Even people in his own party ignore him

Re: The 112th Congress - A Congress divided shall not cry!

The title I see says "compares" not "calls"

He didn't compare them to Nazi's either. He compared something the Nazi's did to something the Republican's did. Big difference. See, context matters.

Basically he is accusing the Republicans of lying about something over and over again in hopes that everyone will believe the lie to be true instead of the truth. In this case the phrase, "Government takeover of Health Care".

I would add "taxation is stealing" as another thing they say over and over and over again that's a lie.

Its good to know it wasn't over the top rhetoric. I guess its business as usual

That's not what you said. You agreed when you said "The title I see says "compares" not "calls"" that they were comparing the Republicans to Nazi's.

I agree that it's a stupid comparison and over the top, but, he did not compare them to Nazi's.

ABC news made the title not me. The title wasn't the point, at least not for me. I think you know that

You were questioning the over the top rhetoric. And I don't disagree. But, I think the Congressman makes a point that continually saying an untruth to try to make it true is over the top as well. Which is worse? I guess that's up to the individual to decide.

So after the great financial crisis, congress passes healthcare bill in 2 years. now with the republican control of the house they will try to repeal the bill (for next 2 years?). At least they are busy bees working so hard to get us back to square one in 4 years.

So where is the financial reform to stop future banking crisis? or job creation (other than magical tax cuts with infinite job creation with every cut) that doesn't depend on borrowed money?

the Republican-led House easily passed legislation to repeal the nation's sweeping health care law.

The vote was 245-189. There were four Democrats that voted for repeal.

Democrats failed in their procedural attempt to send the repeal bill back to committee for a discussion. Meanwhile, House Republicans are already preparing for four House committees to take the next step in the repeal effort and figure out ways to change the law.

The way I see it, as long as they're busy chasing stupid crap they aren't screwing up anything else

But what took close to 18 months to pass the House with all the legislative gimmicks, took only 16 days to repeal. Now, that's efficiency!

If they can pass an appropriations bill or two this year, it will be historic.

What?

The Repeal won't pass the Senate and will not be signed by this President. So, BS it only took 16 days.

Re: The 112th Congress - A Congress divided shall not cry!

Like Cantor said today, if Harry Reid is so confident it won't pass the Senate, bring it to a vote.

Anyways, the previous House couldn't even pass a budget, so the bar has been set impossibly low.

Never underestimate the ability of a legislative body to accidentally represent the people, thereby disappointing all of us.

There is always a lower bar.

Yeah, the UP is filled with them to serve the needs of the native midget population.
