Tennis anyone?

Re: Tennis anyone?

What about Sharapova? She's won three GS titles for *'s sake. :p

Wozniacki needs to develop some type of shot she can rely on for winners. She can't just rely completely on counterpunching to win - it might work for the regular / minor tournaments to some degree, but it isn't working on the slams.

Sharapova is in a class above.

Re: Tennis anyone?

Nadal down two sets to one to Robin Haase of The Netherlands.

Nadal refused to meet the Queen because it would jinx him.

Lesson: Don't cross the Queen!

(Of course, he ended up winning, but he's been warned!)

Re: Tennis anyone?

So this thread really emptied out after that Isner-Mahut match ended.;)

Isner loses the first set to De Bakker, 6-0.

Re: Tennis anyone?

TMZ: Jennifer Capriati rushed to hospital after possible OD. Reportedly doing OK. :(

Tomorrow Centre Court features Federer vs Meltzer, Serena vs Sharapova and Murray vs Querry. The No. 1 Court features Henin vs Cljisters, Djokovic vs Hewitt and Nadal against a scrub :p

Court 2 has Venus, Wozniacki and Roddick.

The Serena/Sharapova and Cljisters/Henin feature world number ones meeting in the round of 16.

Re: Tennis anyone?

Roddick loses to journeyman Yen-Hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei, ranked No. 82 in the world. Lu is capable of playing well but that's a horrendous loss for Roddick.

Other than that, no big surprises today. Djokovic beat Hewitt in what was a bit of a surprise, IMO, despite the seedings.

Re: Tennis anyone?

Cljisters came back after being down one set and took the last two easily. Announcers opined Hennin wasn't quite ready for pressure of Wimbledon.

I'm sure you heard that if you want a monogrammed Wimbledon towel, like the players use, you can purchase one for $200.00. Not sure whether that includes shipping. :D
