Sunyac 21-22

Cortland's Nate Berke assisted by AJ Przystawski tied the game at 16:30. Minutes later, they BOTH got game misconducts. On the SAME play! Nazareth retook the lead at 19:56 as they have a 5x3 for an entire five minutes.

Other end of first scores:
Geneseo - 2, Stevenson - 0
Chatham - 4, Buffalo State - 1
Plattsburgh is scoreless.

Cortland scored twice (Ethan Homitz and Matt John) 50 seconds apart late in the second for a 3-3 tie against Nazareth after two. Plattsburgh tied at 2. Geneseo leads Stevenson 3-0. Chatham destroying Buffalo State 7-2.

Cortland takes a 4-3 lead over Nazareth at 1:26 in the third when Michael Sciore beat the goalie near side from the left faceoff circle.

That's the least of the worries. If the NCAA deems it safe to hold a tournament, they will figure out how to select 12 teams. Even if Fishman completely disagrees with their selection method... :-) Besides, conferences can still figure out how to select a champion for the automatic bid, no matter how many games are cancelled. Let's not forget, we got half the season in so far. That's a lot better than last year, and the NCAA was already prepared to hold a tournament with a lot less games expected to be played.

Straight-up PW across the board is the way to go. Every logical person realizes this, even if they fail to admit it. (*Winky Face*, my friend.)

Another near side goal from the left faceoff circle, this time by Trevor Veneklase, at 14:28 gives Cortland a 5-3 lead over Nazareth.

Two shorthanded empty netter goals completes the comeback win, 7-3.

Plattsburgh gives up 4 in the third (one empty-net) and loses to Albertus Magnus 6-4 in the opening game of the three-team WB Mason Classic in a near empty Stafford (those season ticket holders really packed the place). AM plays Kings (PA) tomorrow and Plattsburgh plays Kings on Sunday.

Geneseo back on the winning side with the 3-0 win over Stevenson. Lots of rust by both teams in the first period, but pretty solid play after that. Strong game from Petizian shorthanded to earn the shutout. Geneseo roster continues to look deep.

Two goals for Geneseo alum Conlan Keenan tonight for Toledo (ECHL) and first star of the game. Representing for the SUNYAC!

Holy cow. What happened?

I’m not an insider, but there were some names I hadn’t heard from yet this year. My guess is we were missing some regulars… whether is was COVID or departures, I’m not sure. Also, I would say not a strong game in net for Del Tufo.

Brockport scores on a 5x3 PP at 15:43 of the first. Zach Norby put a rebound in from the crease for 1-0 lead over Stevenson.

That’s how the first period ends. Brockport leads in shots, 14-9.

Brockport makes it 2-0 at 3:56 of the second, seven seconds after a PP ended. Ryan Romeo scores from the right face off circle against Stevenson.

It’s now 3-0 Brockport as Jacob King stuffs in a wraparound at 15:35 of the second period over Stevenson.

Make that 4-0 Brockport. Sam DiBitetto scored from the side at 17:00 on the PP.

Correction — 5-0. As the Stevenson goalie let in a terrible goal. Jacob King scores again for Brockport at 18:17. And a huge scrum breaks out. Lots of penalties coming up.

Stevenson breaks the shutout at 16:35 of the third period. Blake Colman sends a blast from the right point. Brockport leads 5-1.

And that’s how it ends. A very impressive performance by the Golden Eagles in every facet of the game.
