Congratulations to all SUNYAC players receiving this year's awards. A special congrats to Coach Emery, very deserving of this award i.m.h.o.

Cortland is the coldest rink in the SUNYAC hands down.

Post Potsdam getting heaters I agree. I was surprised in Williams this year. An old barn like Romney, empty seats.....below zero temps and I was inside with a hoodie on and comfortable. On the reverse side I walked into Cortland when it was 40 degrees and almost needed gloves on.

I loved Romney, but after the hike from the parking lots to the arena in "below zero temps" anything would be comfortable ;)

Not the the Campus Center has many closer parking spaces. :(

It was in the 40's when we went to Cortland back in October and I practically froze to death. I was just about as warm the next night when I went to Five Mile Point for their season ending race.

But now they have heat so it's not that bad. It was in the 40's when we went to Cortland back in October and I practically froze to death. I was just about as warm the next night when I went to Five Mile Point for their season ending race.

I swear they use Air Conditioning to freeze their ice.

I remember the days when my kids played youth hockey. We would get to the Crete in Plattsburgh with the temps around 0 and it was colder inside than out with the wind blowing off the lake! That place was cold.

Yeah, I'm not liking the fact that the women have to go the same day. Why couldn't they have went at 7 pm Friday night instead? Or have it on Sunday afternoon at 1pm??

Re: Sunyac 2011-2012 thoughts comments....

The women have played during the afternoon a bunch of times since the Campus center opened and it has not been a problem. They played Elmira last year before the Whiteout game and Oswego and Plattsburgh looked just fine in that one.

Are there any other inconsequential things some of you guys can worry about before the faceoff tomorrow?

Jeez, we're just throwing thoughts out there. I know that the Three Stooges will have the ice in order. The ice couldn't be worse than Cortland's or the time that there was standing water on ours last year during break.

Nothing to see here - move along...:D

Between the Lady Lakers, both club hockey teams and open skate, the ice has not been "virgin" for a game this year...

BTW the Lakers Hoopsters got their revenge at The MAX last night and beat Freddy to advance to the SUNYAC Final against Cortland...game time 4pm on WTOP and WNYO - rumor has it the gym floor will be in perfect shape - Freddy had a large contingent at the game...perhaps they will hang around for hockey?

The bigger issue today might be the high wind warnings and a foot of Lake Effect headed to Oz....

Didn't oswego beat Brockport to advance to the finals or was that their quarterfinal round win over Brockport?

Wind, yes. Snow, no. They were calling for 3-6 inches overnight and I woke up to nothing. Now they are calling for 1-3 inches with higher amounts on the Tug Hill, meaning littleto none for Oswego. The winds are also supposed to die down some by tonight.

Been snowing in Northfield since yesterday afternoon.

We've got around 10 inches or so on the ground.

Ah, Northfield, I still can't believe that St. Olaf won on a short handed goal after Hamline carried most of the game.
