Wished I lived closer to OZ:
1 PM Womens Hockey ECAC Playoff
4 PM Mens Hoop SUNYAC Championship
7 PM Mens Hockey SUNYAC Playoff
Good luck to all of the Great Laker student athletes!
Quoted for truth.
Days like these are what you live for as a student fanatic.
Kudos to the Oswego Athletic Department/SUNYAC/ECAC West officials for staggering the schedule as well to allow people the chance to go to all three events if they want to.
The women have played during the afternoon a bunch of times since the Campus center opened and it has not been a problem. They played Elmira last year before the Whiteout game and Oswego and Plattsburgh looked just fine in that one.
Are there any other inconsequential things some of you guys can worry about before the faceoff tomorrow?
I think it would be cool to watch the man & women play at the same time![]()
Didn't oswego beat Brockport to advance to the finals or was that their quarterfinal round win over Brockport?
What are you talking about? I am not worrying about the ice, a few other posters were and I pointed out that it is a non issue. Apparently said posters were actually just trying to be funny and it got lost in translation, not a big deal. This is ridiculous. Are you worried that maybe they didn't put the right air freshener in the locker rooms?
Both teams play on the same ice surface.
What was it like in last years SUNYAC Semifinal? Did Fredonia bring a decent crowd?
I'm not expecting too many Buffalo Staters to make the long trek up to Plattsburgh, especially considering the Women's Basketball Championship is at 4 PM at home against Oneonta (on 91.3 FM WBNY too, cheap plug).
I won't be able to track the game tonight unfortunately as I'll be at the NLL All Star Game but I don't think it's that far out of the realm of possibility for Buffalo State to pull the upset. We have won three of the last four contests, although we did lose our most recent contest in Plattsburgh by a score of 1-0. I'd honestly be kind of surprised if Buffalo State lost this game by more than a goal or two.
Very unlikely but just thought what if Fredonia and Buffalo State pull the upset.....imagine a Buffalo State/Fredonia SUNYAC Championship. But I just can't see their being a SUNYAC Championship without Oswego or Plattsburgh.

Seeing how Plattsburgh hasnt missed the Championship since 1990-1991 (due to post season ban) probably a good reason why it would seem weird.....
PS if you need or want updates send me a private message and I can text you updates.
It also essentially eliminates a Pool C slot. If either Freddy or Buff State were to win the SUNYAC, Oswego and Platty would probably both get Pool C's. It might be a close call for Platty, but they would still probably get it.
Yeah I was going to ask about that. I know Oswego is a lock to get a Pool C bid if they lose but I wasn't sure if Plattsburgh would get in if both Oswego and Plattsburgh lost tonight. There's only three Pool C slots available correct?
I hope that doesn't happen, Fishman would be really upset if an undeserving Amherst got a bid in that scenario. It would depend on How Amherst and Norwich do in their tourney's. If they both win and neither Oswego nor Platty wins the SUNYAC, then Platty would still get in. If by some miracle, Oswego, Platty, Norwich and Amherst ALL lose their AQ's...then the Pool C's could very well be Oswego, Norwich and Amherst. But I highly doubt that would happen.

Both Oswego and Plattsburgh.
Back then, there was no separate SUNYAC per se for hockey. They played in the ECAC West and/or NYCHA. They decided the SUNYAC champion by record. They were tied and there was no tie-breaker procedure since there was no SUNYAC per se for hockey. Similar to the way the Ivy League names a hockey champion within the ECACHL.
BTW, go ask some old time Oswego alum what happened in the first round of the ECAC West playoffs that year. Hee, hee, hee, hee...
P.S. Any local weather update for Route 104? It's blustery and snowy here on the west side of Rochester. We already lost power last night right when I started watching the RIT-Niagara game.
Nothing wrong with your post, but it could be argued that EVERY game Brockport played was a "SUNYAC" result, IMO, positive performance by a SUNYAC player against non-SUNYAC teams is all the more reason for someone to be the SUNYAC POY.
I know what point you are trying to make here, but the SUNYAC POY should only be considered with SUNYAC results.
Just a quick recap here
Vs. Top 4 SUNYAC Teams
Klin 4-1-5
Ross 2-4-6
Whitelaw 6-5-11
Cody 6-5-11
Oswego can beat Plattsburgh with out Whitelaw, Brockport doesn't even come close. I know Wren played well that night, but if it wasn't for Cody Brockport doesn't get their first win over Plattsburgh since January 21, 1984. And at the same time, Cody is on a team with little support, and still manages to put up points against "the best" teams.
