Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

Re: Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

I did not know this one-but jenny is the easter movie fan-The Shoes of the Fisherman. (Although TCM is not showing that one today they have about 8 hours of Easter movies on)
Will come up with one shortly-

"There's no prettier sight in the world than 10,000 head of cattle...unless it's 50,000"

The Big Country.

Are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?

Re: Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

This one is frustrating me-I know who said it but not where it comes from. May have to leave this one to others.
Love the quote choice though!

You'll hate yourself in the morning, DD, it's from "The Outlaw Josie Wales," which was on the tube over the weekend. Josie (Clint) confronts about six Union soldiers lollygagging around downtown then issues our quote--then shoots 'em all!

Okay, here's another grounder:

"He's the only man I know who can strut sitting down."

I know this one but I don't have a movie quote that's remotely difficult...

Oh well.

The movie is Inherit the Wind. LOVED that book/play/movie.

Here's my bad movie quote:

"Call no man happy who is not dead."

Love this one-Clash of the Titans (the original Harry Hamelin one)

Try this one-

"Look,Scully.I got a picture to make here.I got twenty-five days to make it.I got no time to **** around with a claustrophobic vampire who freezes every time he lays down in a coffin."

Body Double (a much nicer quote than the one where Melanie Griffith describes her "work restrictions" ;) )

A: "She won't answer the helm! We're locked into the moon's gravitational pull. What do we do?"
B: "We die."

Great get on Body Double-I was going to use her job requirements but it would have been heavily censored. Love that Flick-

The Last Starfighter (great Robert Preston Role)

"I can afford to send out my shirts and eat here once a month if I don't order an appetizer"
(hint-movies do not get any hotter than this one!)

Body Heat (an HBO staple when I was a lad)

"Why is J. Edgar Hoover on your phone?"

"I don't know, he's on everybody else's, why shouldn't he be on mine?"

Clue (another one i had to defer to Jenny-I was lost:o )

Try an easy one-

"You know what they say, it's the face powder that gets a man interested, but it's the baking powder that keeps him at home."

"Bonnie and Clyde" (parodied in Mad Magazine as "Balmy and Clod.")
When it first came out Time gave it an ordinary review then realized the film was way more than just a gangster epic and did a cover story on it. The film had enormous impact at the time.

Here's an easy one:

"Nobody wears beige to a bank robbery!"

Take the Money and Run

"How d'ya like that! He could've had a hundred grand. She could've had me. Both wind up with nothin'.... Dumb chump!...Crazy broad!"

"Born Yesterday," a line from that philosopher, Broderick Crawford!

This one may be a little obscure, but you have a habit of getting those the quickest.

"Oh... the pancakes!"

At first thought about Fargo(pancakes) but settled on a Woody Allen movie-Zelig. I saw it once in the early to mid 80's but they reviewed it at the NYU Film School and i think the line was said by Leonard Zelig.

Another one from a movie that I don't know why-but I really like-

"But what can you expect from a society that itself spends 44% of its tax dollars on killing?"

Reservoir Dogs

"Yeah yeah, mama. Now you could hit the sheets or the streets, it don't make me no never mind. Now that's your bag baby, you can go, or you could come. Can you dig it?"

Re: Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

I don't even have an educated guess on this one! Got to be something fairly new. Help?

Black Dynamite

"I am the VP of the biggest executive helicopter leasing company on the western seaboard. I haven't had a carb since 2004. Check these out."

"Step Brothers"

Try this:

"Hey, you, that's my seat!"
"Go pick yourself an orchid!"

The Blue Dahlia (my era)

"You are with the guards now, madam! You are a prisoner! I may leave here today empty-handed... but you are not going anywhere"

Lawrence Olivier interviewing Dr. Mengele's nurse (who for some reason still had a bad attitude) in "Boys From Brazil." One of my favorites. Cut! Cut!

Back in a minute. Here you go:

"Forgive your enemies, but first get even."
