Dang but I hate ties! Better than losses certainly.....but boy do I hate ties.
I was only able to listen but it sounded like a well played game by both teams. Credit to Princeton from battling back from 2-0 and 3-2. Boy.... it was 2-0 and we hit the pipe and just missed going up 3-0. Again...like at Brown that 1st Princeton goal late in the period seemed to turn the tide of the game again.
In the end it looks like the difference in the game was our PP. It has been strong all year but tonight 1-8 just doesn't cut it. We had a wide edge in PP time as we had 8 to Princeton's 3. Given that advantage we didn't capitalize like we have been doing.
Quinny is flying and scoring. We had best be better tomorrow night or the result could be the same as last weekend. Here is hoping for a "W"!!!!
To be honest, Mike, that game felt like a loss. Sloppy play, but we had numerous grade A opportunities that we either just quite didn't connect on, or Condon made a great save. Martin got robbed from point blank, Carey hit pipe, several players barely missed feeds... it just wasn't meant to be.
The PP did create a lot of chances, and looked good more often than not. Not capitalizing on the 1:20 of 5x3, while maintaining zone time, hurt. A lot.
That said, Princeton did look pretty good. Quick, slick forwards and solid defensively. Condon was aggressive in net and didn't leave much to shoot at. Hopefully we can get it going tomorrow afternoon, we can't get 1 point weekends and expect much.
