Well that confirms what a *ty Olympics it's been so far for the USA.Shaun White finishes 4th in the half pipe...
The Women's XC Skiing Sprint is in a few hours. One of the favorites is Kikkan Randall of Anchorage. You'll be able to tell if she wins because you'll hear a loud roar from the north. Seriously, this may the most anticipated event up here. It has been seriously hyped in the press.
Yup.Nada. She missed the semifinals by .05 of a second.
Well that confirms what a *ty Olympics it's been so far for the USA.
And nice to see that we're starting to do better in sports like x-country where we've been non-entities and in which the athletes aren't celebrities. It sucks that we're not cleaning up and taking medals home left and right... but it's nice to see such variety on the podium.
I bet snow conditions are to blame.
Sorry, I've never liked Shaun White. He seems like a *****.
When the teams entered in the Opening Ceremonies there were a lot of comments about "going to school in Boulder, Colorado". Wouldn't be surprised if many of them are wealthy enough to pay their own way. Few, if any are medals threats, but they get to say they were in the Olympics.
Erin Hamlin takes bronze in women's luge. First for the U.S. in singles luge.
Watched some of this women's singles luge yesterday. Noted as the women stood up after their runs in the skin tight uniforms that there appears to be an advantage in having a low center of gravity while lying in the sled - at least all the top finishers appear to have that. I guess I'd have to try the skeleton to get my center of gravity that low....
Wish we had gotten more explanation. Was is because it didn't meet the standard for reversal (I don't agree)? Wasn't reviewable (if so, why did she review it)? In any case, I'm not going to complain too much, because there shouldn't have been a whistle in the first place.US got absolutely ****ed on that call.
