SLU 2010-2011 - Until Moko Comes Along This Will Have To Do

Re: SLU 2010-2011 - Until Moko Comes Along This Will Have To Do

Congratulations Brandon! That went by quickly...maybe not for you, but for me!! Houston is actually a good place. Tons of good restaurants and food and, for now, Bags plays there! Congrats also on getting a job...not all college grads can say this. Keep us posted.

College graduate. Feels super good, but this now means I won't be around the "Southeast ECAC" to see many games. I've accepted a job offer in Houston that I will be starting June 2nd, and will be moving down there. I'll still make it to a handful of games a year hopefully, but we'll see how it works out.

Hey Brandon...........CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm with Leckster......that sure did seem to go by fast. The one thing he forgot to mention about Houston is it is about as opposite as you can get from the North Country where you grew up!!! But I suppose that's why my son who grew up on a dirt road in a rural town now lives in Philadelphia. He also didn't mention it is the also "the Humidity" capitol of Texas.

We'll miss seeing that Bobby Torney :D Jersey at games and I'm sure we will run into you at Appleton at some point down the road. Best of luck and make sure to stay in touch!!!

Hahaha, thanks everybody, and it definitely went by fast, almost too quickly. I'm really excited about this opportunity that will begin in 3 weeks or so. I'm looking forward to Houston/Texas (not sure where I'll end up yet, looking at Austin/Chorpus Christi as well.) despite the heat/humidity that I know is going to be waiting for me.

On a side note, I'm beginning to car shop as well, planning on test driving my list of cars Saturday when I come back from Houston to Syracuse, since Driver's Village has everything. Who do you work for again, Mike?

Hyundai as in Sunday, Monday. We have some great cars getting great gas mileage........Tim U just got a new Elantra so if you are looking for someone to talk to that has one he is your guy. I can do my best to make sure you get a good deal or at least get good information.

In a bit of irony my son Chris and I just returned from my sister's home in Haddonfield, NJ, about 3 miles from Philadelphia, to celebrate my Mom's 93rd birthday. On another note, my niece's boyfriend (a die-hard Flyers' and NHL fan who I met for the first time) knew as much about Rich Peverley as I do.

Congratulations, Brandon, on your great news. I wish you nothing but the best and hope to catch you at some games in coming seasons.

I recall a guy named TimU posting on this Thread, when the Bruins were down 0-2 in the Montreal series, that the Bruins were, "pulling their annual choke job." I wish the Rangers choked like that:).

I'm really looking at the Tucson and Santa Fe. The other few on my short list are the Volkswagen Tiguan, Chevy Equinox and Nissan Rogue. Went to the NY International Car show a couple weeks ago and really liked the Tucson, but we'll see when I go for a drive in each of them Saturday. I'll keep you posted for sure.

I know - what are the odds there would be two guys with the same screen name here? Go figure. That guy is an idiot.

For what it's worth, I did not buy a Hyundai because of my friendship with Mike - based on my needs/preferences it was just the best car out there - but I will say that once I told him I wanted one, it was a great experience. I was blown away by how well I was treated by everybody involved.

Mark Morris was an assistant at SLU and was in that role for the '88 team that played for the national title.

Congrats to Bob. Not surprised as Bob coached at Princeton and met his wife there, who I believe was assisting the women's team at the time.

Re: SLU 2010-2011 - Until Moko Comes Along This Will Have To Do

To my SLU friends, it appears that the Lake Placid Film Festival will not be showing Jeff Chudzinski's documentary "The Saints are Coming". This is disappointing. I was going to drive from Vermont to Lake Placid to watch this film and know many many people from throughout the North Country that were looking forward to going to this viewing. Even our on Tupper Lake Crew was excited to travel next door and watch!

With nothing to lose, I suggest folks send an email asking the Festival, in a respectful way, to see if there is a possable venue to watch this exciting film!

To contact them please call (518) 523-3456 or email tjb@lakeplacidfilmforum.com . Frankly the festival is wasting a grand chance to reach out to hundreads of folks who would not otherwise go to the festival. They may just hook a few people for the long term if they were able to get folks to go for a first time.

Wonder if they thought it was a religious film? :D

Congratulations to BP on the Princeton job. He was groomed by the best and will be an asset to the Tigers. Best of luck to him, except when he plays us.

I e-mailed Jeff a while ago about getting a copy. Here was his response to me:

"Hi Brian,

I really appreciate the support, it's nice to hear the people were enjoying the film. I'm going to touch up the film a little over the next week or so and then I'll be making copies. I'm selling each copy for $5 each so just let me know how many you would like and where to send them when the time comes. Thanks again.

Jeff"
