Dan or others, does anyone know if this documentry will be released in someway on the internet?
Worried about Joe?What's with the raiding of all the ECAC coaches? First Leaman, now Gadowsky!!!!!
Worried about Joe?. Seriously, though, he is a class act and great coach. I'm sure he must have turned down offers in the past, hasn't he? I'm assuming he loves it just where he is.
Can he still live in Canton if he works in Potsdam??I think he was offered the job at Harvard when they hired Mazzoleni or Donato. Realistically, Joe would never leave SLU. He is loyal to the area and has made his home there. Maybe if Umile left UNH...MAYBE, but I doubt it. I think he will probably go three more years and then hand the reins.
I am stunned that Leaman would leave Union for that place and the morgue known as Schneider. They were good 20 years ago, but not even a sniff since then. Sounds like he has a relationship with the AD that enticed him. But, seriously, I think that is a step down. On the bright side, PC does not have very tough admission standards so that will be a nice change from Union. Speaking of which, the rumor about Rick Bennett at Providence was he was prop 48 ineligible for not getting 700 on his SAT's. Don't know if it is true, but he was not applying for Rhodes scholarships.
I am surprised about Gadowsky too. I thought the PSU job would go to someone with a very high profile. Gadowsky is good, but I thought it would be someone like Schafer or someone that has already won a lot at the D-1 level. They will be a dominant team very quickly. Still worry about who the steal to coach at Clarkson and now the Princeton job is open and BP did coach there...I just hope he stays in Canton. I think we can get top recruits and the differentiator for us is our coaching staff. Top to bottom, class, talent and integrity.

I know, never happen. But what worries me is the compensation package given by Western Michigan to Blashill. $175K base + $100 media + $100K bonus if he meets academic targets. Not many ECAC schools can match that.
If I was interviewing for the Clarkson job, and they asked me about compensation, I say $150 to start, $175 after year 3, $100K bonus if I meet academic targets, and $25K if we make it to AC, $25K for making the NCAA tournament, $50K for the Frozen Four, and $100K for winning it all.
So I could make $450K if I hit all the targets. Nice incentives and the base is small enough for a school to afford it.
Except WMU has set a standard, and WMU is not as good as our two schools. If it was one of the big boys, I'd blow it off, but this is a mid major school, just like us. Sure the bonus pots are too much, but $150 + $100 is doable.Well, at what point during that dream do you wake up. I'd be stunned if Roll was making over $150K all in. I don't even think Parker is making that kind of money. Problem #1 is finding someone that can win more than Roll. Problem #2 is dealing with the reality that they probably pay less than some of the assistants out there.
Very nice article about SLU Alum Simon Watson who continues to excel both on and off the ice.

College graduate. Feels super good, but this now means I won't be around the "Southeast ECAC" to see many games. I've accepted a job offer in Houston that I will be starting June 2nd, and will be moving down there. I'll still make it to a handful of games a year hopefully, but we'll see how it works out.
