As a Wild fan, I would like to thank you for Casey, he seems like he will fit right in, can't wait to see what a full year with him on the ice will be like. He is deffinatly a fast lil ****.

Your welcome I guess. I wish he stuck around another year, but I wish him the best. I'll be rooting for the Wild along with the Kings in the West this year.

Petry straight to the Oilers?

Petry straight to the Oilers?

Straight off the Oilers' "Down the Pipeline" blog -

I'm told that negotiations have been proceeding well and that the theme of the talks may be "compromise"; each side has had to be flexible over certain issues.

The end result? I get the impression that not only will a deal happen but it could be sooner rather than later - and that (junior Michigan State defenseman Jeff) Petry might not be headed to Springfield. With the blueline injuries the Oilers are facing, once signed, Petry may report directly to Edmonton and perhaps as early as this weekend.

Re: Show me the money--Players turning pro

Now that we are getting down to the F4 (after this afternoon) any more rumors on additional signings?

Re: Show me the money--Players turning pro

Hopefully Cornell's Scrivens (senior) will get an opportunity. Have not heard of any goalies considering leaving early.

Re: Show me the money--Players turning pro

Brown: Volpatti (Vancouver NHL/Manitoba AHL), Rosen (Gwinnett/ ECHL), Timberlake (Providence Bruins AHL). Great for these guys... good luck!

Re: Show me the money--Players turning pro

It has been announced that Mario Valery-Trabucco, Union's leading scorer this year, has signed with the Adirondack Phantoms. The Phantoms are the AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and play at the Glens Falls Civic Center

Three from Alaska:

Dion Knelsen signed with AHL Peoria, and was was assigned to the ECHL Alaska (Anchorage) Aces.

Brandon Knelsen signed a tryout contract with ECHL Idaho, and ironically enough his first pro game was against Alaska and his brother Dion.

Dustin Molle signed a guaranteed contract, also with ECHL Idaho.

Re: Show me the money--Players turning pro

That actually is a pretty good article. The best part was the last paragraph:

"Sandelin agrees. “The best line I ever heard was that some kids don’t enjoy the journey; they’re worried about the destination. To me that’s what it’s all about when you’re playing hockey, or anything. You’ve got to enjoy the journey, and the destination will be there whenever. But everyone seems to want to get to the destination without enjoying the journey.” "
