Assuming Beckwith is cleared to play and practices this week, do you start him against Buff State and/or do you play him the entire weekend?

If Beckwith is cleared to play and he has some good strong practices then yes, you play him in both games this weekend. If they play as well as they have been defensively, they could win both games with any of the three goalies in net but the only way to get Paul back into game shape is for him to play. I think he is the only one of the three goalies that can beat Plattsburgh in a few weeks and he needs all three upcoming games as a tuneup for that one.

If Beckwith is cleared which I think he will be, he should start both games this weekend. I don't think it would be wise to have him start and be thrown in against Platty who is playing terrific hockey now, maybe the best playing team in the nation, and not have him see some real competion. Jones and Hare have done a nice job so far but they haven't seen competion like the Cards. Only time will tell.

If Beckwith is out I'd rather see Jones in net, from what I've seen Hare cracks under pressure.

I believe Beckwith has been practicing this week, if so, it's up to Eddie if he sees time in net this weekend.

While I agree Jonesy would be my choice if Paul couldn't go, I don't agree with the statement that Andrew cracks under pressure. He hasn't really been in a pressure situation yet so we really don't know if that is the case. What he was lacking when he got here was confidence and the team laying down on him in the Hamilton game did nothing to help. I would think shutting out Curry helped his confidence a lot, even though he really didn't have to do much, the team stepped up and helped him out so now he at least has some confidence in them. I think if they have to call on him again he will do just fine.

You put this in the wrong thread, It should go here: Threads we shall never see....D-III edition

Sub-Title:

Oswego starts new tradition of throwing stuffed bugs bunny animals onto the ice.

I actually thought of something like this when the two schools did away with their "tradition". Tossing stuffed animals onto the ice to give to a shelter or the needy. Lors knows I have three 55 gallon bags full of them to get rid of.

PS if any Laker fan needs a ride to Plattsburgh I will be coming up from a Atlantic City, NJ early Saturday morning. Still have 2-3 seats available. But must get ride back (from albany) Sunday evening ;)

Listening to WNYO last night, it sounds like Beckwith has recovered nicely...safe to assume he stays in net through next weekend?

If you enjoy watching WTOP's coverage of Laker Hockey online, you need to register in order to access the broadcast beginning with today's Women's game v Chatham (puck drops @ 2:30p) The press release from the Athletic Dept. is below:

Starting January 22, all Oswego State athletic webcasts will require viewers to fill out a survey to gain access to the webcasts at athletics.oswego.edu/video. Viewers are encouraged to complete the brief, one-time survey early as it can be answered at any time to register a computer for all upcoming webcasts. Once a computer has been registered, viewers can watch any Laker sporting event through any Internet browser without having to log-in or fill out the survey again. Athletic webcasts will remain a free service for all viewers.

The information gained from these surveys will be used in an effort to better serve fans, parents, alumni, and SUNY Oswego students in the future. Laker webcasts, which are provided by WTOP - Channel 10 broadcasts, are funded through contributions from SUNY Oswego, the Oswego State Athletic Department, and the Oswego Alumni Association. WTOP - Channel 10 broadcasts are funded through the SUNY Oswego Student Association and by community underwriters.

Registration takes very little time and the new user interface displays the upcoming schedule for all sports. Register today, check out the women's game so you know you will be all set for the next men's home game, which is not until mid February against Morrisville

I'd have to think so, he looked great. He moved very well in the net and looked extremely comfortable.
