Season 95, Vol 2: Michigan Tech '15-'16

Re: Season 95, Vol 2: Michigan Tech '15-'16

Flight Risk: Joel L'Esperance .... rumor has it, that he is being pursued hard right now. Hope he decides to stay....

I'm not surprised...more surprised that someone didn't draft him last year when they had the chance...hopefully he sticks around but I'm sure it will be a difficult decision for him.

FYI - Blake Pietila has been called up to the big Devils. He will be #56 if he sees game time.
NHL debut???

Twitter rumor flying the Alex Petan will sign with the Minnesota Wild and report to Iowa for the rest of the season.

Just thinking out loud here, but lets say there are further conference changes that occur after this next year. My questions would be: Does this mean more or less travel for us? Does this mean more or less conference games?, If there are the same number, would the 'northstar cup go away and if so, can we get games with the Minnesota schools( Duluth, etc) because of that? Will any of this affect recruiting? And if so , how?

I'm sorry to report this but I just saw on the Facebook group that Butch Mousseau has passed away. Such a tragedy and really makes you think.

Blake did make his debut 3/24 and got his first point (assist) tonight vs Carolina in his third game. Seems to be getting reasonable time for a 4th liner. Played 16 minutes tonight.

It would all depend on what those changes are MS. I do think the North Star Cup is here to stay as the agreement at least gives the other Minny schools the opportunity to see the Gophers in their barns once in awhile. There are a lot of rumors floating around. Some drastic, some fairly simple. It will be very interesting to see what the rest of the landscape looks like when Notre Dame plays its first Big Ten game. But with everything that's floating around, the possibilities are endless.
One think that I do think stays is the 28 games schedule for this group. If you cut to 24, chances are pretty good that most teams would be very fortunate to keep their home/road number of games anywhere near equal. It's tough enough as it is. It certainly will be interesting.

I think there WILL be more conference changes, but I don't hear anything that would affect MTU.

Dumbass??? I've got 350,000 miles of college and minor pro hockey team travel (including 10 Alaska trips). I've even been responsible for booking team travel for two teams. What's your experience?

Oh this should be fun. *grabspopcorn*
