Assuming that it's actually an advantage. It also has the potential to have the player take themselves out of a play, resulting in an odd-man break the other direction. It would be interesting to see someone do a study to see which actually happens more often, an advantage to the diver or to the other team.

That's the downside, but a lot of times he does succeed in drawing a penalty and our PP can be lethal.

I suspect, that after losing a couple games to the Huskies, there may be some shocked and despondent UND fans diving into the Red River of the North. Now, that's what I call diving.

I will be the first to admit Roe dives. In some cases it is a good play, but I tend to think he does it to much and takes himself out of plays he should be fighting through.

Agree he dives and I don't like it.

It is the WCHA, if they aren't going to call it, it's dumb not to try and use it to your advantage.

like I say, it's the equivalent of the pick. While it's a great move that works, it's interference. Diving is diving. It's cheap.

Now that the ref's look for it he doesn't get the calls he got two years ago. He takes himself out of the play by diving or whinning to the ref way to much . I think Roe is a great talent, but he needs to do less whinning and just play the damm game.

I never said anything about Earl.
Gutless or not, if the refs aren't going to call it he'd be dumb not to try and gain an advantage.
Hell the refs still haven't cracked down on a lot of the hooking and interference and Roe and Lasch are prime targets of that when teams play SCSU so if that can be used as an advantage to try and stop them, then Roe is going to try and do what he can to help his team win.
Do I like the fact he does it, no I don't but if it's not going to be called, do what you can.
It's not his fault WCHA officials can't call a game right to save their lives.

I'd rather have seen Barta-Raboin and Lauridsen-Gaudet but whatever.

I have a bad feeling I am going to be yelling at my TV a lot friday night.

Roe and Johnson.
We don't have any more defensemen (Well Rioux but we know he's not going to be playing) and Roe is only suspended the one game.

I am surprised that the Sioux fans haven't posted a response to this yet, because I sure as He11 thought they would be on the DU Hockey Blog reading up and have the correct answer.

Since apparently they are secretly frightened and appear to be a lot of talk on here, I have chosen to go to the Lets Go DU blog and post the answer to your question. Records date back to after the Huskies last swept the Sioux in GF:

July, 2006 - Robbie Bina Arrested For DUI

September, 2006 - Joe Finley Arrested & Kyle Radke charged with "Loud Party"

November, 2006 - Jonathan Toews Charged with "minor in consumption and noisy party gathering"

February, 2007 - Toews, T.J. Oshie & Bina arrested at Judy's Tavern


December, 2007 - Oshie arrested again, this time for disorderly conduct allegedly after peeing in a dormitory elevator

July, 2009 - Finley & Matt Frattin arrested for disorderly conduct, fleeing from police and giving false information

Hey when we had Jordan Parise, we said we wished he wouldn't dive...so yes, we can take the moral high road in regards to cheating on the ice.

At least you guys are admitting it though...unlike another red team in our conference...

The SCSU radio play by play guy last season had a running tab on how many penalties Roe got called on the opposing team. Of course not all of those were dives, but I am sure a lot were.

It looks like we have a good line-up---if we were playing an exhibition game. This could turn into an exhibition. Or, as the guy on "The Life of Riley" used to say: "What a revolting development this turned out to be."
