SCSU @ UAA - December 4th/5th

Re: SCSU @ UAA - December 4th/5th

Interesting.... when was the last time UAA got 2 wins in a SEASON against SCSU, let alone a sweep? No... I'm being serious, I can only find game results back the last decade.

What I expect my team to do and what they actually do on the ice are usually two different things. Still, I feel they are good enough to sweep teams on their home ice, and this is as good a weekend as any to make it happen!

As with many WCHA teams, UAA has had more than their share of injuries to key players. Still don't know if Christiansen and Lunden will be playing this weekend. How about the Huskies, have they avoided the injury bug?

it struck early (eddy) with some residual effects from last year(zabs, headaches), but both are back and both are playing great.

Edit: I think Dunn might have a sprained knee, not quite sure as nothing has been said for sure.

Not right now, no worries there. And the weather is warming up, 40 degrees at 7 am today.

Sounds like the weather we have had here. It is finally going to get cold later this week with highs in the mid 20's by the end of the week.

Re: SCSU @ UAA - December 4th/5th

This series is so interesting that the conversation has actually turned to the weather!

Will be difficult but the Huskies could really use 4 pts this weekend. I'm sure UAA is saying the same thing. After taking Saturday's game at Denver I'm hoping the Huskies can keep the momentum going. Would be a big 4 pts on the road.

Any updates on Dunn? If Lee gets both starts does that mean the team will play on Saturday like they have been on Friday's? Inquiring minds want to know.

and people say I like to stir the pot.;)

This team has only been swept once this year at #1 Miami and hasn't swept anybody either. It is hard to come up with any good reason why the Huskies will sweep this weekend. Motzko talked on his show how yes they have had a tough schedule, but they need to start sweeping teams. He came out and said last saturday was a must win. He always seems to know how to say the right things. Obviously he has learned from Dahl's many mistakes.:D Hopefully it is not all talk and this team gets on a role.

Yeah, we hear the same things from Shyiak. But UAA has had a tough schedule. UW, UM and CC on the road, with DU and UND at home. The only team they have competed against who was near them in the standings was Mankato, and they split with them at home. Both teams should be very hungry. Do you know when the Huskies will get into Anchorage?

The squad is leaving early Wednesday morning for Anchorage.

Also, it's official at this point, Dan Dunn will not be making the trip, so the Seawolves will see Mike Lee both Friday and Saturday nights... time to prove you're a big time goalie Mike.

Isn't Dunn the better goalie? Still haven't heard about Christiansens condition yet, so I don't know what to expect from UAA for goalies.

Your team has improved, and yes, they're good enough to start getting some sweeps at home. But SCSU isn't a team IMO they are capable of sweeping yet. MSU-M, MTU, those are the teams you should look to get 4 points from.

Lee's by far the better prospect, but Dunn is right now the better goalie. Here's hoping he takes the first step in Alaska.

Off topic, but what a GREAT weekend for hockey: watch the Wild at 7 and watch the Huskies online and the Gophers and Mavericks following the Wild game both nights... all the time playing NHL 10 on my 360. Ugh.... God I can't wait for Friday night

Consequently you are saying Mike Lee will in all probability start Friday. Tell us about the other guy that you might have to toss in?

He won't in all probability start Friday. He WILL start both nights. Our 3rd goalie was a kid who was recruited to not use up a scholarship and only dress if one of our top 2 gets hurt, like this weekend.
