SCSU @ UAA - December 4th/5th

Re: SCSU @ UAA - December 4th/5th

Well... it wasn't the prettiest hockey we've ever seen, but we'll take 4 points anyway we can. Though... does anyone else feel like we never do a convincing job of closing people out? We always seem to cling on leads and get out of town by the skin of our teeth (UND, DU, and now UAA).

Good series Seawolves, you guys certainly deserved more than 0 points.

Re: SCSU @ UAA - December 4th/5th

congratulation on the sweep. on the road no less. good luck with the tiger don't be another hussy k ;)

It's just not you. This team has no killer instict at all. If they don't get some soon they will flop out in the playoffs yet again becuase when you let teams hang out it is going to bite you sooner or later....

Re: SCSU @ UAA - December 4th/5th

The Huskies are beginning to quietly pick up momentum. They've taken 8 of 12 points in three typically tough venues. Lasch is now on a 10 game scoring streak and guys like Christian, Marvin, Mosey and Eddy are starting to contribute offensively. The key thing is this team can and does play well on the road. The belief was they can't win on Friday but they go to Anchorage, win on Friday and hold UAA to 3 quality shots on goal. Then they get the job done on Saturday in front of a sparse crowd and against a team that probably got a royal *** chewing after Friday's effort. Bottom line is they are getting the job done without guys like Roe, Festler and LeBlanc lighting it up. Next week the task is CC and I have alot of confidence they will get at least 2 points. I'm quite impressed with what they are accomplishing not how they are accomplishing it. The schedule gets more favorable the second half. I'm starting to believe they can give anyone iin college hockey fits and their ability to win o the road will be huge come playoff time.

I would add Oslund to the group who is starting to contribute offensively. His play has been generating a lot of chances - both for himself and others.

yup - 2 goals with the game winner on Friday. He had a very nice weekend and maybe things are starting to kick in for him. Many times it does when they hit their junior year.

Oslund looked good, but the Dane looked really good Saturday, and was more responsible for Oslund's goal than Nick was.

Was Marvin injured? He did not appear to me to be a very good skater, almost as bad as UAA's Naslund. I didn't know if he had a leg injury, or if he always skates that way.

The rest of the SCSU team is fast and talented, they should give CC some fits next weekend. Good luck!!

No, he always skates like he has a stick up his *****.:D

Good Luck the rest of the season and hopefully you guys can beat some teams for us.

I agree. Lauridson looked very good, and the thought crossed my mind that he may not be a four-year player at SCSU after watching him Saturday night. He moves very well for being as big as he is.

MAYBE he could leave after his junior year, but honestly, he was so raw last year and he's still adjusting to non-European hockey, so I think that we'll likely see him all four years.

Re: SCSU @ UAA - December 4th/5th

Lauridson had a nice weekend - +2 including a few shots on goal. IMHO he's been good 50% of the time this year and marginal the other 50%. Unless he simply doesn't like college I highly doubt anyone will encourage him to do anything other than continue to try to improve his game at SCSU.

I don't think anyone will sign him early thinking he is going to jump right into the NHL, but with his size and improving skills, I could see someone thinking he could develop more quickly at another level. He is still raw, but has greatly improved not only since last season, but as this season as progressed as well.

We only have to worry about Philly signing him early, so it depends on the Flyers.

 He was drafted last year by the Flyers. They even had Darien Hatcher out watching at the last home series.

Edit: ooops, looks like FTLT beat me to it. :)

I am aware he was drafted, and by "someone" I was referring to somone from their organization.
