Re: SCSU Season Thread 2-Do We Hate Everybody as Much as They Hate Us?
Positives:
-We manage to go 14 straight series and not get swept in the WCHA. That included away trips to Denver, Grand Forks, and Madison. Very impressive.
-3rd place finish in the toughest conference in the country. True, its by the skin of our teeth, but BU won a NC last year by the skin of their teeth, and so all that matters is the result.
-Marvin comes back after one game, and I think Raboin should be good to go next weekend, so fingers crossed we should have everyone available by Saturday night next week.
Negatives:
Anyone remember seeing this team start to cool off at the wrong time in years past?
You know, for a second, I wanted to end it at that. Hey, I'll be the first to congratulate these guys, especially because going into this season I wasn't expecting something major, but this team night after night, weekend after weekend, continues to just devastate its fans. A few years ago a team like Michigan or Minnesota was talented enough to take a night off and still win. WE DON'T. And I'm sick of them thinking that.
Its not just tonight, honestly, I think Mankato is WAY more talented than their record indicates, in fact I had them as my dark horse to get home ice this year, and they proceeded to make me look stupid there. However, we just don't come out and play good hockey consistently. I'd say its a little over half the time. If I showed up and did a good job at work half the time, I sure wouldn't still have a job.
But luckily, the season starts over, so all we need to do is play the team ahead of us each night. I'm sorry if I'm sounding like a Negative Nancy, I'm just frustrated. They get to the X after two games in St. Cloud next week, I'll feel a lot better.
